Mac doesn't need to go through all that. Anyone that goes to the games can clearly see it's his fault. Same with Dan Pippin at Greenwood. All you gotta do is watch for a few quarters and you can guess the plays. You can see the undisciplined players. Lack of toughness. All that is on the head coach. If the coach is soft then the players will be too more than likely. Pippin was too much of a "nice guy" and that's what our players turned into. Therefore we always get blown out by any good team.

I remember in 2016 Emerald took greenwood to the wire and next week get blown out by Abbeville. Mac looked as if he didn't have a care in the world. Team getting blown out and he's not even upset about it. Then they come up with all the excuses. Both Mac and Pippin should be on the same staff. That's a guaranteed blow out in favor of the other team.....

No need to continually bash on Pippin lol. He's gone now. It's over. Time to move on. He didn't get the job done on the field like we hoped. Let the man enjoy his retirement.

I hope the situation at Emerald gets better.

Sounds like there is a mess at Emerald and they are going to cross 2 BIG names off their list

It's an atrocity that District 50 is letting McMahon be a puppet master behind the scenes. It's essentially going to be his staff (including his know-it-all son) and Mac himself wants to coach special teams as well.

An absolutely horrible situation for anyone to walk into and he's purposefully making it that way to get his guy the job.

The horrible region draw was just the cherry on top.

Just because of location, I really dont know how they could put a region together that is convenient to Greenwood teams. I suppose if they had Greenwood teams as the center of the universe and based all on that they could. But then that throws the other regions in the upstate out of balance.

I agree with this assessment. There are not many teams in the areas around Greenwood that will allow Emerald to not have to travel unless it drops to 1A or 2A. Anything above those classes travel is required. It'll be alright.

Travel is not the issue. They will get dominated in that region, but that’s not a realistic argument when it comes to appealing.

Who did they pass on?

I know one close-by coach is standing back watching how things shake out.

They have the athletes to compete. Just need the right coach. Wanting to play weaker competition isn't the answer. If they want the trophy they have to beat the best teams.

This region could be the end of Emerald as a high school. If they completely fall off in athletics, it gives the town more incentive to merge Greenwood and Emerald into one high school.

The whole concept of a junior high becomes much more believable if Emerald continues to be completely hopeless in athletics.
