Neal DID NOT get an interview. 100% sure.

Who's paying the cost? The kids. Who's not doing anything about it? The community.

It's one of the most talented programs in 3A, but the right coach needs to be there for it to mean anything.Jimmyccorn76 wrote:What's all this talk about a 1-9 Emerald team? Who?

Re: Emerald
You think they can run with Chapman and Camden? I mean no disrespect, but would you place a 1-9 season squarely on the shoulders of the coach?

When EHS had their strongest coaching staff in place in 2014, they beat Chapman (blew them out 55-22).Jimmyccorn76 wrote:You think they can run with Chapman and Camden?
It will take them a few years to get back to that level but they have the athletes.

Re: Emerald
Yes, Greenwood County has athletes running around everywhere but horrid coaching situations has put the success of emerald and Greenwood on hold currently. Emerald has way more athletes than Chapman. Chapman just has a really good coach. I've seen them play. Take Hodge away and Chapman will go away. Dillon is the best comparison to Emerald as far as athlete to athlete.Jimmyccorn76 wrote:You think they can run with Chapman and Camden? Yes, coaching makes that much of a difference. That's why we pay them handsomely. These kids don't coach and lead themselves.Jimmyccorn76 wrote:You think they can run with Chapman and Camden? I mean no disrespect, but would you place a 1-9 season squarely on the shoulders of the coach?

They had one of the most talented offensive lines in all of high school, not just 3A.Jimmyccorn76 wrote:would you place a 1-9 season squarely on the shoulders of the coach?
McMahon failed miserably.

Perhaps true. Equally true is the fact that the coaches don't punch it in for a touchdown themselves ..eagle93 wrote:Yes, coaching makes that much of a difference. That's why we pay them handsomely.
