I think it would be helpful for the membership to post the names of schools that are appealing classification or region to the SCHSL.
Burke is appealing to be moved from class AA to class A.

Lets hope and pray that Rock Hill and Northwestern win that appeal and Gaffney and Boiling Springs can go back to region 2

Re: SCHSL Realignment Appeals
WF appealing up doesn't make much sense, their travel would be worse. However if MB and NMB moved up to 5A then Horry County would have their own 6 school 5A region.Do_It_Right!!!!! wrote:Also hearing north Myrtle Beach and West Florence appealing to move to 5A...not sure on that one though
Re: SCHSL Realignment Appeals
IMO 5A should look like the following:
Region 1:
Hanna, Woodmont, Hillcrest, Mauldin, Mann, Wade Hampton
Region 2:
Gaffney, BS, Spartanburg, Dorman, Byrnes, Riverside
Region 3:
Clover, Nation Ford, Fort Mill, Rock Hill, Northwestern
Region 4: (Super Conference)
Blythwood, Spring Valley, Sumter, Dutch Fork, Chapin, River Bluff, Lexington, White Knoll
Region 5:
Carolina Forest, Conway, Socastee, St James, Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach
Region 6:
Wando, Stratford, Cane Bay, Goose Creek, Berkeley
Region 7:
Summerville, Ashley Ridge, Fort Dorchester, Stall, West Ashley
Region 4 would obviously split for the playoffs. I would drop Ridge View back to 4A into region 4. I know everyone wants to "play up" but I believe this reduces travel (Admins biggest hurdle).

Re: SCHSL Realignment Appeals
Did they ever send out the final, adjusted enrollment numbers? How do you appeal if you don't know exactly where you and others fall?
