1. Gaffney Indians : I literally can't think of a time when Gaffney was historically bad. I can think of some times they've been mediocre according to their standards but not bad. Any of you indian fans feel free to educate me on this. Like when was the last time you guys really sucked bad for more than a few years?
2. Dillon Wildcats : I feel like they are the most non talked about successful program in the state. These guys have made a habit of being in semi finals and finals most years in their respective class. Dillon fans, drop some stat knowledge on me about your team. How many years in a row have you all been in a semi final or finals game?
3. Abbeville Panthers: What can you say? I grew up right next door being from Greenwood. The entire community is completely bought in every year. Even before their "signature state title runs" between 2010 and 2020. Their storied history and success runs just as deep as my Greenwood Eagles.
2k1's "honorable mentioned"
Summerville Greenwave : This was the most difficult not to put in my top 3. They had the winningest coach ever in Mckissick. So obviously their tradition runs deep.
Byrnes Rebels : The ONLY reason they are not in my top 3 is because I can remember when they were really bad. They need about 10 more years of sustained success in my opinion to strengthen those roots. As far as national recognition, they've definitely had the most spotlight of any team in this state that I can remember.
TL Hanna : Even though they are not really known for having a winning tradition, THEY HAD A FREAKIN MOVIE MADE ABOUT THEM LOL. You can't ignore that. Everyone knows about RADIO R.I.P.
