Not bad for a bunch of old rockers.
Hey CAT FAN,
It looks like our week 0 game with Bluffton may cancel. Week 4 is our scheduled bye week. Hmmm, what other teams in the area don't have a full schedule and are open in week 4? :)
Haven't seen Dillon's schedule, been out of the loop. They have had problems getting a full schedule. Florence would be a short drive. Don't know why Dillon doesn't play any of the Florence teams anymore, or Dillon's old rival Hartsville.

Old days. That defense was nasty.

Here's Dillon's schedule,....so far. They only have 8 opponents lined up, open dates on week 1, 4 and 8. They do have Wilson (North Florence) scheduled for a home game in week 2.

If South Florence's week zero game does cancel, available teams with an open date week 4 are Dillon and Socastee. (Irmo and Marlboro County are also open but are already on our schedule.) Dillon is closer and has fewer games scheduled than Socastee.

Big build up for the Havelock N.C. game last year, didn't play because of weather. Didn't make game up, bummer. The Aynor game may be interesting, beat Dillon last year. Congratulations to them.

Old days schedule

Entering the 1994 season Dillon was #1 in 4A, #13 Nationally USA Today.

Dillon lost to Marlboro County 94' regular season, then defeated them in the playoffs before an estimated crowd of 15,000 to earn a trip to the 4A State Championship.

Dillon went on to be denied by Cityslicker's Berkeley Stags, who had a very talented team in their own right. Some critics say Berkeley's best ever. Congratulations Ole' Cityslicker.

The only failures are those that don't try.

No baiting, being genially sincere.

Berkeley was highly ranked entering the '94 season too.
Several of those 4A top 20 teams were on Dillon's schedule, I'm sure Berkeley had some too.
Awe, the ole' days, when every game was a contested battle that brought excitement with electricity in the air.
Football fans certainly flocked to 'em.

How many were at the Berkeley/Dillon State Championship game?

Dillon had a awesome QB that won 4 straight state title rings. Probably Dillon's best QB to date, as good as the '94 team was, they were essentially a run oriented team. The offense evolved since then to go along with that tenacious nasty cat defense.
