Sunday set a new high for the number of new cases in Beaufort County. You aren't Dorothy, and this isn't Kansas. New reports out today suggesting long term harm to the heart muscle for those who survive the virus. The hits, they just keep on coming. This isn't safe, and hopefully there will be one adult in the room willing to stand up and say so. We shall see.

Currently, the State has 83K cases. In just 3 weeks time, by August 15th, the SCDHEC estimate is for that number to be near 120K. Do the math. Also, as of now, we have 1500 deaths. By November 1st, the current SCDHEC estimate is for that number to be 3200.

Yet you try to tell me that the State is in the process of seeing things trend down? I want some of what you are taking because it has you hallucinating. The numbers for just today, are up by 25% from yesterday. I know you reich wingers don't like facts, but dang it boy, wake up. It could be your life or your child's life that you are risking. I think far more of my child than to expose her to those kinds of chances. Apparently you don't care about your son.

Agree with Penguin concerning the risks part. There are some people who are bound and determined to have football and kids inside the school, and that's exactly what we will get, virus be damned

A buddy of mine told me his district had to re-sign contracts and sign a clause assuming all the risk of Covid-19, or else no job. I believe remote learning can work for a few weeks until we see what the numbers are going to do. Bring the kids in, train them and issue textbooks (1 day, no lunch, staggered groups), then go all remote for a few weeks. This will not happen but it should

when the kids come in for their 1 day orientation, instruct them on what to do even if internet access is not available, it can be done

Dude if people can riot and protest.
Im sure under proper guidelines im sure we can manage
school and sports with actual adults guidance .
They can go back to work (teachers) aswell .
Some kids get lost and were unaccounted for when we went to remote learning not to mention the food programs where some get the best meal they have all day.
School is the only support system they have.
Coaches/teachers are mentors and may be the only adults that give q crap in thier life.
Every weekend baseball fields and stands are heavy with travelball players .its not causing them problems why would it be any different.

We are going to find out. The schools are opening and football will be played. The debate is over

travel baseball and protesting are outside, big difference. No virus circulating in the air system. Hold school outside and I'm on board

believe it or not, we have lost tons of kids that are in school. The way we do school is ineffective to a large number of high schoolers. Should we try something else?

my district sends 7 days worth of meals home weekly for students and has since March. When I see them, they don't look under nourished, they look over nourished. The desks are not big enough for some

it will be a gamble to open schools, but one that people are willing to take. Republicans have been wanting to re-open for months

according to some on this site (I think you have posted about this), the answer is herd immunity, so let everyone catch it. What about the long term effects of having this? If it knocked 10 years off of your life or your son's life would you still have the same position?

To be honest if i knew qll the answers no.but i do not believe we know enough to determine.
The time we do find out it could be decades.

As for schools yeah we should try something else but virtual is not something i support. Maybe no change classes teachers change class that would minimize student movement and intermingling.
I do think heard immunity may be a answer.it may not be the only answer.
They say that the infection rate is 10 to 26 times the amount of positives.
Which is between 850 k and 2.2 million in a state of 5 million.
People talk of q vaccine .who in the heck is going to be a test dummy when that comes out.we dont know the LTE for that either.
Thats why i lean towards herd immunity .we sorta know the devil we have.
Id like us to be able to practice.
We were doing fine .

I reluze we cannot save every kid.but if we can keep a few more frim getting lost qnd maybe bring a few lost souls back.
Hell we all may be wrong .this crap may never stop .

Also at this point cancel it or commit to it.really tired of being jerked around by the schl.
Make a decision so we can proceed with other avenues.

Governor's comments today are game attendance be no more than 50 percent of capacity or 250 people, whichever is less. Let the fight begin!! I can see Slick camping out the night before to be one of the 250!! LOL
