I'm with GBG. A lot of good memories on PFT and still a lot of fun to get on there and go back and forth when ads and errors don't ruin the experience (though they never cease to try).
I've decided for sure to split my time between the two for now. In our first season here it's a good idea for PFT to keep it's traffic up and keep a little pressure off SCPrep. The moderators and admins will, I imagine, have a bit of a learning curve with handling things when they start to grow. As Andy said, too much traffic can be a bad thing and I think that's true definitely in the beginning of a forum like this.
I imagine that by the time all my friends from PFT are posting mostly over here that I'll probably hang it up over there but until then I plan to keep in touch with folks over there while talking football over here.

Oh, and another REALLY good benefit to PFT staying active is that it might help to keep the riff raff over there instead of over here.

I still read and post at PFT, but I find myself doing it sparingly because it's so frustrating. They may pull-back on some of their changes when they see their advertising "view and click-through" count dropping. Maybe not.
I think their problem is the bottom line. They are part of a business that has to be profitable. It would be very hard for a forum to turn a profit if you have to pay employees to Administer and Moderate it, even if they're only spending a couple of hours a week doing it.
They could go to a subscription model like they have with their SHJ content but casual users will never sign-up and pay.

I must confess a guilty pleasure...
The link below is a search of Caveagles posts on PFT with the keyword "cheaters".
I can't imagine that it did not drive some Rebel fans crazy but dang I'm sorry...it was funny if you know Caveagle.

My favorite though I can't find it was where one of the Rebel fans says something to the effect of...
"You know they say you can tell a lot about a person by the words they use. You seem to use the word "cheater" a lot."
And Cav quotes it and responds, "Yes I do CHEATERS!"

You can't read the writing because of the size but it reads, "Either you're an Indian, or you're everybody else" I have an 8 x 11 version in my car back window.DeCav wrote:I like the new avatar Bojack!

It's Friday night in the fall, I'm at the reservation. Where else is there?
