Summerville vs West Ashley
Summerville vs West Ashley
Both teams played and exciting defensive battle, but neither team could pass the dog worth a dog's piss!! The only thing that saved Summerville was that they did have a kicker. West Ashley couldn't kick the ball past my grannies skirt with a hurricanes wind helping! They had 3 chances and wasted all of them. One they were afraid to try, number two was penalized out of range, and the third was a bad snap. Probably going to get beat by at least 21 against Fort's Air Raid Offense next week. Summerville better learn real quick how to protect their QB or the same will happen when they play Fort in a couple of weeks too. How in God's name did Stratford beat Summerville??
Re: Summerville vs West Ashley
West Ashley has a pretty decent team.their kids played hard...
The West Ashley QB and RB are pretty quick and tough to bring down.
But penalties are a problem with the wildcats...
And you have to ask the question why doesn't the West Ashley Coaching go to
a more Spread offensive and give them 2 room to run ?
Summerville defense played hard and won the ball game.

Re: Summerville vs West Ashley
Summerville needs to find an oline. WA rushed 3 all night and beat Summerville's 5 down lineman on practically every play. On some plays it was like our oline was not even out there. Because of their success with rushing 3, they were able to drop 8 into coverage making it difficult to pass downfield. So much to work on. Defense kept us in the game as they were on the field all night. I don't think we got a 1st down in the 2nd half. Thankfully our kicking game was much better than WAs. In the end we are 2-0 in the region with another region game next week against AR.
Re: Summerville vs West Ashley
I agree that WA has a decent team, but if you can't put the ball in the endzone as many times as they had it inside the 20 without shooting themselves in the foot with penalties you don't deserve to win. I am not entirely in agreement with the statement that Summerville's defense won the game for them as much as penalties lost the game for WA. They couldn't get out of their own way, and if you can't find a kicker that can kick at least a 35-40 yard FG in AAAAA ball with as good a soccer program as there is at WA you are LAME!! I would go talk to the soccer coach tomorrow and have tryouts first thing Monday or this year for all it's worth is over. 3rd place gets you nothing this year!! No disrespect to Summerville, your coach is developing his program his way and I think he will do a great job once he gets past a year or two of development. I did like your #8, and I can't wait to see the two LB for WA crash the gate on the QB for Fort! They do have some speed and size on that line. Hope #8 and #78 is alright too he was a beast on both sides of the ball till he went down.
Re: Summerville vs West Ashley
Crash the fort walls huh??? We shall see. Fort has alot of speed everywhere and we spread the ball around. The offense may speed the tempo up to wear out the wildcat defense. Also we do have an offensive line and a dline. We aint summerville or AR. West Ashley gonna find out real soon. And what do you have against Fort anyway. Rhingse you say make you a Fort hater why is that?Damefan wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2020 1:24 amI agree that WA has a decent team, but if you can't put the ball in the endzone as many times as they had it inside the 20 without shooting themselves in the foot with penalties you don't deserve to win. Re: Summerville vs West Ashley
And if you read in my post about Summerville and WA you would realize that I think you will win by 21. But they do have a very good defensive line that is big and two STUD LB close to the level of Dutch Fork caliber that you don't get to play here in the Lowcountry until you get to the playoffs. Berkeley has had those kinds of players and given you problems just not enough of them. WA beat themselves last night, not Summerville beat them. Sorta like Ashley Ridge almost beat Fort last year until Fort woke up in the 2nd half and realized they were in a fight. I am excited to see if you can stop the LB's but I am confident with my money that the AirLaprad offense will beat this WA team unless they show something I haven't picked up on. Not locker room talk just facts.fdgrad00 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2020 1:38 amCrash the fort walls huh??? We shall see. Fort has alot of speed everywhere and we spread the ball around. Our offense has yet to scratch the surface yet which is scary. We shall see how good the lbs are. We shall see if they are good as justus Boone from sumter who we saw in a scrimmage and he is as good as advertised as a 4* recruitDamefan wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2020 9:59 amAnd if you read in my post about Summerville and WA you would realize that I think you will win by 21. I agree, that would be a good measuring stick!! Still think you will win but it should be good to watch them rush your QB at least in the 1st half.fdgrad00 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2020 11:15 amOur offense has yet to scratch the surface yet which is scary.
