Abbeville at 96

Post by 96fanatic »

What can i say.I love my Wildcats but there is no
way they can come close at any position matching
up with the Panthers this year.If my Wildcats can
get a 1st down i will be surprised and i doubt that
Abbeville will face a 3rd down. The Panthers will
score early and often.our region is pitiful this year
except for A-Town. I know 96 will do their best.
GO GET'EM WILDCATS!

I hated to see all of the personal fouls from the teams. I was surprised that the game got a little out of control like that.

The officials seemed not to know what they were doing most of the game.

No offense but it won't be the next year or two, I'm pretty sure. 96 is as down as I believe i have ever seen, very small, only have a few legit high school players. I'm all for the running clock in a game like this, but, it was crazy that the refs let clock run for 4 or 5 minutes while they attempted to figure out a penalty situation. I thought they might just keep talking until the game was over. Lol! On the play, Abbeville had two players get their helmets ripped off, and, somehow the refs came up with off-setting penalties. unreal. Just had to laugh it off.

Liberty is in the same boat.Ninety six beat them.
Christ Church is not much better.96 had 6 turnovers
in that game.Christ Church ran 2 of the fumbles back
for td's. you see what West Oak and Crescent has.
like i said the region is pitiful except for Abbeville.
I didn't mean 96 would have the team to compete with
Abbeville in a couple of years but they will be able to
compete with other teams in which ever region they are in then
if all the kids on the middle school team stick with it and play.
just have to wait and see.I miss coach Liner. :)

I hope 96 can get better. Unlike Liberty, West-Oak, and Crescent, 96 has been good in the past, maybe they can get it back. Obviously, it takes players, have to get the athletes interested, to come out and play and put in the effort. We are blessed in Atown with football talent, the kids want to play it seems, and, start in the youth league.

There's the ticket. If a High School coach has to teach his players how to play, game over. By the time kids get to High School they need to know the system, the plays, and only have to work on execution and fine tuning their game. Hitting the weight room should be more important to High School kids than having to learn a system. Youth programs, Middle School, and JV or "B" team games should have players ready by the time that they are Sophomores or Juniors. A team laden with Senior talent is the one that will compete for trophies.

Liner only had a few wins against teams with winning records when he was at 96............never went anywhere in the playoffs...............you saw how well doolittle did following up liner didn't you?...............you miss Brian Neal, just aren't willing to admit it..........HE is the guy who was the backbone to the success at 96............no one else..........the main reason he was fired was to reserve the head position for this guy and the kids still know it............their parents know it..........right now, there is no light at the end of the tunnel for 96..........the park and rec is just as sad as the varsity............top to bottom, a complete disgrace...........
