That will be a dandy game for the first round . If you haven’t penciled in anything for round 2 . Daniel vs Chapman Might blow up the scoreboard.

Region 7AAAA is baked and glazed. Beaufort is the 1 seed and South Bluffton the 2 seed. The Head has forfeited all playoff seedings because they won't complete their full schedule. This is from Beaufort AD. We are playing Carolina Forest this week, and Benedictine out of Savannah Georgia next week. Period, end of sentence.

They can be called Co-Champs, but only one team can be put in at a time in the bracket, so they break the tie in each Region. In some Regions, it is easier to do Chinese Algebra than determine who gets the top seed in the brackets. It's easy if two teams are tied.... who won the Regular Season Match Up?
What really gets people upset is when they meet in the bracket, for example... if Dorman beats Byrnes and gets the number one seed from Region Two and they end up playing Gaffney in the Upper State Championship and they get to host the game. Everyone starts screaming; but we beat them head to head in the Regular Season!!! The only answer they get is, the bracket is set up BEFORE the season even starts. Why??
Why doesn't the SCHSL break the tie by head to head meeting first and then by the pre-determined bracket if they did not meet in the Regular Season? Oh we all know the answer to that question.... that would make sense and the SCHSL doesn't like making sense.

I'm still for state wide cross bracketing...makes for some great match ups you don't normally see....especially this year with only 2 from each region...as it is we see the same games we seen in the regular season year after year...

Again, as I mention in my previous comment, you are using that COMMON SENSE stuff....
Although, with costs of travel and all the missed games, this year with all of the additional issues, cross bracketing would put too much additional burden on all the schools. I do agree with you about having some great match ups, to imagine some of the potential match ups is fun; however, without a points system of some sort to "rank" the teams how could you seed them?
Region Champs -vs- Region Runner Up, but which one is the Number one seed?

Re: 2020 SCPrepTalk SCHSL 5A,4A,3A,2A, and 1A Playoff Projections after Week 5
It sounds like you are calling for a bracket that is determined by seeding. As a long time supporter of a 3A team, we have dealt with that exact problem since the 1980s. With the creation of the Big 16, the SCHSL adopted a system of pre-determined Playoff Brackets for Class 4A DII and lower. This has been the screaming point of many teams during the lifespan of that system.
I would presume that over the long haul, it was supposed to even the playing field for all teams with similar records after the regular season was completed. 2004 was a prime example. 11-0 Beaufort and 11-0 Conway in 4A DII Lower State. Beaufort had home field throughout due to the pre-determined Brackets.
I am in agreement with having a seeded Bracket. But how to determine those seeds may be yet another source of concern. Nothing is simple, but common sense does dictate something needs to change.
