CLASS 5-A QUARTERFINALS
Gaffney 235.3 T.L. Hanna 222.6 6
I personally think 6 points is a little low. If Gaffney plays up to their full potential, this could be a little more like 14 to 21 points in favor of the Indians. Now if the Indians are still happy about knocking the Rebels out and maybe thinking about how unfair it is that they have to go to Dorman next week.... then it may be a knock down drag out that comes down to Gaffney's ability to shake it off at the half. I think the Indians will be focused and ready and will take things seriously from the opening kickoff.
Dorman 233.4 Northwestern 215.8 9
Dorman is favored and by all rights, should be favored. No one really thinks the game will be this close. Dorman will run at will against Northwestern and will shut down the Trojan offense. The game will be over by halftime. Well, I can understand why they would say things like this about Dorman; I mean they are a solid team, great coaching staff, no real weakness in either aspect of offense, defense or special teams, and they do have the experience of "been there, done that!" So am I one of those who think thoughts like those above? Yeah, I have to admit that I'm on that list..... but no team playing this late in the season can be taken likely by any one except a fan.... go back and read what I said about the coaching staff at Dorman, and I can assure you, those guys are preparing like they are playing the #1 team in the State on Friday.
Dutch Fork 272.9 Carolina Forest 244.8 14
Lot of folks are thinking this game will be one of the toughest games the Silver Foxes have had this season. I am going to let some of you lower state guys fill in some details but I'm only going to say two things:
1 - Dutch Fork is still the team to beat and I don't know if it will happen at all, let alone this Friday
2 - Carolina Forest has been moving up the ladder of success these past few seasons and a win Friday, at Dutch Fork puts them firmly in the "team to beat" position and I don't think it is time just yet.... 14 would not be enough for me!
Sumter 245.3 River Bluff 229.7 8
Raise your hand if you had River Bluff over Fort Dorchester.... Now raise your hand if you see River Bluff doing it two weeks in a row. I'm not thinking about joining that list too quickly; but then I remember Byrnes went to Sumter and beat an undefeated Sumter team & then remember that last week's big win was at Fort Dorchester so .... maybe River Bluff can pull it off two weeks in a row? Nah, I'll stay with Sumter.
CLASS 4-A QUARTERFINALS
Catawba Ridge 199.6 Irmo 199.5 toss The game that wasn't supposed to be...
A C Flora 237.1 South Pointe 217.7 10 The game that may be amazing!
North Myrtle Beach 224.8 North Augusta 204.9 10 The game where NMB is looking for respect
Myrtle Beach 215.8 Beaufort 209.5 3 The game that BEF is already in the parking lot, waiting for....
CLASS 3-A QUARTERFINALS
Wren 256.6 Woodruff 186.4 36 <-- 36 point favorite in the Upper State Semi-finals? Seriously?
Daniel 262.1 Chapman 251.9 5 <-- If someone got me a ticket, I'd be there... I better start working on that right away!

Re: ROUND TWO - Some thoughts from 74
Great read.........BUT............I have seen Carolina Forest, up close, and personal. They are for real, focused, and not intimidated by the bright lights. I am not doubting that Dutch Fork should be a 2 TD favorite, but that seems to be more based upon reputation than on the field performance this season.
I have a feeling that Carolina Forest will test them early, get ahead, and manage to hold on. I may be wrong, (and probably will be) but I am going to go out on that limb and predict that the streak gets stopped this week. Not taking anything away from the Foxes, just showing my respect for the Panthers. My 2 cents based upon what I have seen.

Re: ROUND TWO - Some thoughts from 74
Will only comment on teams I’ve seen.
Gaffney in a close one pulling away late
Dorman in a close one. But watch out for Northwestern one year away.
South pointe in a close one only due to experience.
Wren by 2 plus tds maybe more
Daniel vs Chapman I have several thoughts on . Seen Chapman on tape 4 times . Seen Daniel five times live this year. I’m biased so you know who I want to win and I’ll leave it at that.

With Daniel @ Inman High right in his back yard? Not a chance. That is the game of the year in the state this year........period. State Championship on the line in that one.......sorry Dillon and Camden, just the facts.BEAUFORTEAGLESFAN wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 9:42 pmThanks for posting this Rebel-Fan-74! Wren BARELY held on against a very average Fairfield Central team. Woodruff is darn good and I can assure you Wren will not blow us out. Wren is not that great of a team this year. Good in spots, but plenty to exploit.Ddub14 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 10:00 pmWill only comment on teams I’ve seen.

Sorry no disrespect just how I see it . Seen woodruff on tape twice and seen several teams that y’all have scrimmaged and played against. Wren is the 4A champs from last year and are used to bigger more rugged teams. Just a fact . They are much bigger and deeper than woodruff. Y’all have not really beat anyone of consequence. Hope I’m wrong because Wren fans get on my nerves but I’m just going with the way I feel. Hey wren turns the ball over a couple times and the wolverines convert maybe a different story. But beating palmetto by 3 tds doesn’t change my mind. Bhp blew them out by 40 and we blew bhp out by 40 and it could’ve been worse . Remember Daniel wren and bhp were all contenders in 4A upperstate the last 2 years . Moving down this year you could see the difference in depth and talent. Good luck to you on Friday .

Re: ROUND TWO - Some thoughts from 74
LOL. Woodruff was up 34-0 with three minutes left in the game on Friday. It took us subbing in our JV call-ups just for Palmetto to get on the scoreboard. We ran the ball 52 freaking times and chewed up vast amounts of the clock. We can throw it as prolifically as we can run it, but I got the distinct feeling our coaches knew we could name the score against Palmetto and just went vanilla the entire night because it was all they needed to do. We literally ran right between the tackles 70 percent of the time and rushed for 358 yards. I hope Wren can stop the run because it will be a long night for them if they can't.Ddub14 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 10:50 pmSorry no disrespect just how I see it . Man it’s ok I’m rooting for your guys but don’t get your hopes up based on a game against palmetto . Two years ago we had 63 at the half on them. Their region is the worst in the history of 3a football and they are the worst region winner ever. They would finish dead last in our region. Y’all do you and maybe things work out . I think I made some valid arguments why I think wren will win . They’ve lost only 4 games the last three years . All to Daniel btw. They know how to win and let me tell you so you know going in . If you think your going to get a call over there your sadly mistaken, notorious for screw jobs. Again good luck if we both win maybe we get together after turkey day at the jungle.

Trust me, my friend, I'm not expecting any favors from the zebras. Heck, we don't even get a fair shake at home half the time, much less on the road. I have my own theory about that, but I digress.Ddub14 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 11:07 pmMan it’s ok I’m rooting for your guys but don’t get your hopes up based on a game against palmetto . I know they know how to win, but this is their least talented team in a LONG time. I am curious, what do you make of them having to hold on for dear life against a Fairfield Central team that, like Palmetto, was simply the best of a bad region? Trust me when I say, Fairfield was not a great football team. Wren posts too much info about themselves online for their own good and I knew literally everything about them by lunch on Saturday. Fairfield Central actually outgained Wren by almost 100 yards on Friday.
Hope we can pull it out and get to make the trip up to Central the day after Thanksgiving!
