Daniel vs Wren 2

Since 2018 Daniel and Wren have faced off 4 times and this week will be the 5th time. My Lions have won all 4 times. 3 of the 4 games has been won by an average of 21 points, with the one other game being decided by just 6.

Wren will roll against any and all teams in the state except Daniel. In last two seasons the only teams to beat Wren other than Daniel was a school from Georgia last season and BHP in 2018.

Coming into this game Wren has been perfect since their first loss to Daniel and in the playoffs had a tough round 1 against Fairfield Central winning 28-26 and then rolled past Woodruff in round 2 39-7. Wren has been using the ground game to move the ball unlike the 2018 and 2019 season where they were heavy on the passing attack.

Daniel has been on fire since the ball was spotted in their scrimmage against Hillcrest. They started out the year with a triple threat at the Quarterback position, but they have since settled with Trent Pearman to start and take the majority of the snaps and he has been playing lights out football. The Lions in the playoffs have been damn near unstoppable. in round 1 they won 62-30 against Chester and then against the reigning champions Chapman the Lions knocked them out winning 49-35.

Daniel’s stingy run defense that will force Wren into putting the game into the Wren QB’s hands. His inconsistency over the past few weeks will more than likely put an end to the Hurricanes run to repeat as state champs. The Daniel offense will continue to keep rolling through the air and we will be in Columbia if they all continue to do their thing.

As for Wren this week I’ve heard the last couple weeks about how much they’ve improved since facing Daniel.
I guess Daniel just stop progressing and got worse.
Saw where Jeff Tate made the statement that no matter what someone from their region would be in the state championship game. That reeks of confidence doesn’t it.
We’ve had their number and if Venebles doesn’t get hurt in that game last year and the 6 point game is not that close. I’ll go further and say they wouldn’t be 4A state champs. I hope our boys remember that Friday . Their wearing rings that don’t belong to them. If wren turns the ball over like they did against woodruff their in trouble .

HOW A RUNNING QB NOT GOING TO GET HURT

Today is one of my favorite days and I’ve seen 12 ,tonight being 13 upper state games with the Daniel Lions since the 1988 team. They never get old and you get that excited feeling in your stomach. Game cant get here fast enough even after all the years. It’s like Christmas morning. Anyway good to luck to all teams tonight with the exception of the wren wind. Safe travels to all that are venturing out and let’s hope all these games are fun memorable ones.

Dominant once again. Wren just can’t hang with us and we are headed back to Columbia. They should’ve shut the out but the refs leaned towards Wren on several drives to handhold them down the field. Team is just hitting on all cylinders and we are ready for the matchup with Camden.
