Re: LET'S ALL GET BEHIND THIS
Sean has spent the day mostly in bed today, his increase in chemo has either slowed him, or the day of exercise yesterday but today is not a good day for sure, he is resting and not feeling as good as he has. So we need y'all to continue your thoughts and prayers and help to him,it would be so easy to give up and hopefully its just the medicine change and not his will. we keep the prayers and the positive thoughts going and hope tomorrow is a great day for Sean, keep him fighting and hoping, and praying. Brain cancer you will not win.

Re: LET'S ALL GET BEHIND THIS
well, its been such a surprise from all my friends and their love for us and our ailing son, My life has been so much fun and all the football friends are every where, I cant imagine the costs and time to do this kind of effort, I know my son appreciates all the love and wishes he could tell each one of you that so. We are just overwhelmed by the prayers, thoughts, love and donations. so to all that has helped with the bar-b-Que dinners, to selling cards, to just straight love offerings, and continued prayers and thoughts.we are forever thankful for the hearts and care for Sean, He finishes his extra chemo pills tomorrow and the extra dosage has really slowed him and hopefully his next days of rest and rehab will keep him on the path to battle this cancer beast and keep him going for many years. His life has went from working to sitting at home and it is a terrible change for him and his mind. so thanks for the efforts for this bar-b-Que fund raiser, thanks to the Lawrence family and friends for this help for Sean and his family. we appreciate all of you, and the help. Thanks, love yall Slick.
A Golden Chain
Another inspirational friendship poem by Helen Steiner Rice
Friendship is a Golden Chain,
The links are friends so dear,
And like a rare and precious jewel
It's treasured more each year...
It's clasped together firmly
With a love that's deep and true,
And it's rich with happy memories
and fond recollections, too...
Time can't destroy its beauty
For, as long as memory lives,
Years can't erase the pleasure
That the joy of friendship gives...
For friendship is a priceless gift
That can't be bought or sold,
But to have an understanding friend
Is worth far more than gold...
And the Golden Chain of Friendship
Is a strong and blessed tie
Binding kindred hearts together
As the years go passing by.

Re: LET'S ALL GET BEHIND THIS
Sean has not felt well the last few days they increased his amount of chemo for a week, his optune thing on his head, burned his scalp, so its off and his 5 days of chemo ends tonight, so hopefully a 21 day break, will help heal Sean and he starts feeling better. so great day of a bar-b-que fundraiser, great day of friendship and giving. we are all thankful for this great army of people trying to help us battle this mind destroyer cancer. there are so many people to thank for the help and just prayers, we head to bed every night hoping for a great next day and a miracle for my only son. No one should have to suffer from such a cancer and we continue to keep the faith and fight for everyday, never give up, never give up. we salute the prayer warriors helping everyday and maybe it will be a better day, tomorrow. thanks slick and wife. we love your grit.

Re: LET'S ALL GET BEHIND THIS
Worked is Sean's yard today cutting grass and weed eating, never got to see Sean but his wife said he was in bed resting, he has been slowed by the extra chemo and hopefully, it will get out of his system after the final one last night, but sometimes I think he and his family needs a break from us too, so today he had a break for Sunday, back to exercise and rehab next week, please prayer warriors fill him with help to get him out of that bed, he needs to fight laying down too. Now I am far from a religious person but enjoy gospel music and a few stir my soul, so I will post the ones for my Sunday soup for the soul, thanks all of you, that follow us on this horrible cancer journey, I see people starting to come out and testify they have had cancer too and some fighting it. so hopefully my words will help heal others and let them know to shout it out, don't try to deal with it by yourself. if there is thing that people know about me is I am a talker and at times a weaver of words and stories. Nothing quiet about Slick. love y'all, have a sweet night and lets start again tomorrow, and a shout out to my new prayer warrior miss Jennifer and her help from her Amicis Italian restaurant too. joey, Donna, Mike and Kathy and the great Wassamasaw tribe of Varnertown , I salute all of you for the prayers, donations, and just love for Sean,, peace, Slick

Re: LET'S ALL GET BEHIND THIS
Spent time with Sean today, he is still unsettled and think the chemo has him low and still in his system. he was getting some flexibility in his right hand but feels like its not there now, they send rehab people to work with him and one pleases him and the other one leaves him frustrated. His time not being able to keep doing computer work or most things leads him to anger and somehow he needs to find a way to deal with this emotion and spare time. we as parents want to give him help but set him straight but not hurt his feelings, so we are always trying to balance a losing battle. its just a never ending situation with all involved caring and hurting, and wishing for him to feel and be better. day after day after day. cancer sucks and truly is affecting us all 24/7. we have to suck it up and end the day with hopes and prayers that tomorrow will be a healing and better day. Life stops for no one. Thanks for being our shoulders to lay on and maybe Tuesday it will be a beautiful Sean day.

Re: LET'S ALL GET BEHIND THIS
Sean said he felt a little better this afternoon, went over and he was still laying in bed. Some how we got to get him out of that bed and more time up, hoping the chemo fog will keep diminishing every day. His mama fried some chi-kin, and mac and cheese, gravity rice and beans, and sent over, so no fast food for his afternoon delight, keep praying for him and we certainly still need some love offerings too, thanks to all of you for taking our son into yall's lives and that's why I try to post his situation every day, so much love and care for him all over. thank you, it takes everybody to help fight this wicked mind and life stealer.

Re: LET'S ALL GET BEHIND THIS
last night at around 10 pm, I stopped at this water fountain and just sit by my self and thought of all the trouble my son is in, there aint no going back, I am slowly losing him with no way to stop the cancer beast, its completely overwhelming to witness and no solution to get him back, totally tearful conditions for me.
