Sean came off his chemo today 5-18-21,, so hopefully his spirit will pick up and he can get out of the bed for a period of time. we really need a upswing in his healing. chemo is such a double edged sword, it fights the cancer but also slows all your processes and he is always run down and tired. so hope and faith is always needed for the next day for a rebound and some healing to keep the body going. thanks for the faith, thoughts, and prayers, and definitely the love and offerings our family have received to help Sean continue to fight this mind stealer. have a great night, peace, Slick.

What Cancer Cannot Do

While at stags football practice today there is a trainer, talk to him every now and then, a little later, he walked by me today and wanted to shake my hand, of course i did and he had some money in his hand for Sean, now people, that's why I love living here and all the people here and the stags nation. Its not about the amounts we receive to help him, its the love, prayers, and the hope and the want to do something for our sick son. it felt like a million dollars coming from him. I could feel his concern and hope for healing. i left with a inspired feeling from a person I hardly even know.

Well, it’s the eve of another charity bar-b-que for our son, Sean, the love from all has been completely earth shattering at times, we are going into 5 months of the heartbreaking news of our son’s bout with such a disease, and of all places inside his brain. His mind is his greatest asset, he struggles for words, expressions and thoughts to express all the time. He has gone from such an outgoing, funny full of life person to a total withdrawn person. He fears trying to communicate with even his closest friends. The embarrassment of not expressing simple thoughts are such a complete opposite of such a great person and son. It made this trip so difficult to witness the down swing of his character. The weakness and frailty of the treatment to his body and cancer is a daily sight. We hope every day for as Jennifer A. French says baby steps. He seems lost in a place we have to fight to get him from lapsing into. Its so unfair for anyone to have this fight with cancer, but the brain seems so taboo to have there. I go everyday and hope, pray, and wish for some good news, a smile, some progress to find. The fight IS so difficult and such a slippery slope. My phone sings all night long from all of you, praying, wishing, and hoping for us. There are so many people that have sent and done so much for him and not even know him or us. I thank y’all for your care and kindness. I couldn’t name every person here but to Joey Lawrence, a great special friend and really like a step son to me, I appreciate the zest in his quest for me and family. He has worked and has given his all to us through this life changing crisis. He has been such a Sean spirit and his wife too. So much given with love and a smile. I thank you all and look forward to be there and thank everyone for their hearts and donations to help my beautiful son and his family. I never met Tom and Darlene Fernandez but what they did, was a special gift of love for Sean, I think them for helping with this cancer fight. I told Tom on a text awhile back, that even if we had never meet, our characters would surely be very compatible and it was meant for us to meet and become friends. He loves the same pots I love to stir for sure. Its all about love and hope for my sick son and it will be a great day in Berkeley County tomorrow at the 1 pm BAR-B-QUE To help my son and ease his financial pains. we raised about 6000 with a bar-b-que today

We appreciate the love for my son, always knew yall would come through for our family crisis, we thank all of you. a day doesn't go by without a card, donation, love. his fight is helped by all of you. We thank all. To the church and the preacher for allowing us access for the great bar-b-Que. thank you, thank you, for john and his donation of a great gift for raffle. such love, such friendship, for my family and my son. thank you again from my heart for his help. THE PERSON THAT GAVE HIS HALF OF 50/50 RAFFLE, BLESS YOU. Sean's wife came out for the event and she broke down and if it wasn't for his sun glasses old joey hide his tears as best he could, mama always said boys don't cry, by the end of the day, we all shed a tear for Sean and his fight.

Sean was up and eating dinner when I checked in after cutting his yard, He wanted to tell all of you, he thanks y'all for the love and attention. and prayers. I had made some banana pudding early this morning and the wife has taken over, so when i left him he was digging into the pudding, we are concerned of a place on his foot that doesn't seen like it is healing and a nurse is coming over tomorrow and check it out. he wanted to express to you his thanks you for all the things he has received from you, prayers, bar-b-Que events. we sent some dinners from yesterday over to him and he loved the meals from the great pit masters. We start a new week and continue to try to pray, and hope to keep him stimulated and moving forward. I couldn't stay in covid exile yesterday, I hugged and shook hands all day long, I had both shots and hope they are right and its ok. so many people wanted to tell me they were pulling for my son, couldn't reject that love. so people sleep well, and we shall wish for a better day for Mr. Sean and the baby steps get a little faster. love your babies, you never know how long we have them for sure. peace, Slick.

well, a little Sean update, he continues to be about the same, I did see in on his computer one day that was a bit shocking. he pretty much eats and sleeps and the same pattern most days, they will check his brain in mid June and hopefully it will be pretty much the same. so we just keep on hoping for a break through and better days ahead for Sean, thanks for the cards and donations I still receive every few days and all the prayers from all of you. if anything changes will let you know. have a great sleep tonight and hoping and praying for better days on Thursday for sure, peace, Slick
