All chatter aside... I think the biggest threat reigning state champions have this season to defending their respective titles is not Fort D, or South Pointe, or Dillion... It's this covid spike and the SCHSL. What teams like DF have that allow them to deal with the covid issue effectively is a well defined, disciplined system. Dutch Fork was not the most talented team last season and in most minds, that was the season to break up the Knotts' run but covid came along and the best system won, not necessarily the most talented team which is the case a lot of the time.
If covid doesn't start to drop off, I can see a delayed season or another shortened season. Sports aside, covid has done enough....it's time for that virus to go away. Have not seen anything like this in 100 years with the Spanish Flu at the end of WW I.... Fun Fact- Slick was "patient zero" for that Spanish Flu outbreak.

Stay safe everybody...

The problem is mainly that almost all contracts are for two years, home one year and away the other. With last season being so screwed up, everyone had trouble this year finding one year contracts. Then to have a cancellation that late, really hard unless you find another team that only had nine games scheduled. There is still a chance that some other games get cancelled and you could pick up another game.

How am I wrong in my assumptions. They have 5 days coming out of quarantine to the game. There were teams last year taking games inside of 24 hours . Spartanburg/ Union come to mind on that . I think Brooke played 3 games in 8 days last year. It is clear that they realized they bit off more than they could chew and the big bad 5A school didn’t won’t any part of that little 3a school. West Ashley Ducks are their new name .

Well, the fact that many REGIONS are already cancelling non-region games is an indication that some schools/AD/Coaches are going to err on the safe side when it comes to COVID. Considering that there are ZERO implications in the case of a non-region game in the standings, why would anyone be scared to play?

Daniel has more to lose playing that game than the Ducks . Yet they want to play . Their afraid to play because they don’t want a beat down. If you have five days to prepare and can’t get your team ready well that’s on you. You have your opinion and I have mine.

Thier outbreak is verified has nothing to do with being scared .scared people dont play football.
If u step on that field and expect to lose u dont need to be around football . But hey man believe what u want .
It was a scrimmage not a game.
Getting work in is important .
I mean pur guys chewed oceansides big d1 linemen up
Both 6 6ers .aint said a word its a scrimmage .we had a few linemen out .thier lb walked into the backfiekd a few times .
No biggie.
They have ne talent over in west ashley .i mean how u disrespect a team thats having issues that a lot of teams have .
