WEEK ZERO - OVER REACTION OR NOT?

Post by Rebel-Fan-74 »

Some comments based on the results for WEEK ZERO, are they an over reaction or not? Why?

1. Clover will win Region Three!

2. Dorman is going to be down this year!

3. T L Hanna had a tough time against Laurens, so they must not be good this season.

4. We will be lucky to if we get 25% of the teams on the field by the middle of the season.

5. Byrnes is back.

6. Posters are quick to say a team is scared to play.

Imma chalk week 0 up to just being the 1st game of the year. We will see after this week how much was fluke and how much was legit, just my opinion.

Hmmm …
1) with that OL and QB that’s quite possible
2) that’s an understatement lol
3) think people are starting to figure out that system
4) appears to continue to be the trend
5)😅😂🤣
6) I stand by my post. The schools I mentioned don’t want to risk getting embarrassed, thus scheduling lesser opponents.
Couldn’t find a meter, but here’s 4 bucks!

What you can tell from a scrimmage or first game is if
your team has some players with speed and athletic skills.
making mistakes can be corrected.having no speed cannot.

ONE game is a fluke.

TWO games is a streak.

THREE games is a trend.

Get back to me after week 2. Opinions will be informed and based upon results by then. Any, all, or none, of your suggestions may be true at this point. After 53 tries, there has only been one undefeated Super Bowl Champion. That speaks loudly to the fact that anything and everything, can, and will, happen in the course of a football season.

Some comments based on the results for WEEK ZERO, are they an over reaction or not? Why?

1. Clover will win Region Three! - Clover vs. Gaffney in front of a sell out crowd will decide the region

2. Dorman is going to be down this year! - school that size in that location should never be down

3. T L Hanna had a tough time against Laurens, so they must not be good this season. - have to agree, or Laurens is up

4. We will be lucky to if we get 25% of the teams on the field by the middle of the season. - 50%

5. Byrnes is back. - Where did they go? Back as in winning it all, or back as in being in contention?

6. Posters are quick to say a team is scared to play. - Yes, because I'm guilty of saying that too. My point is, at what point does the game get called? Is it a certain number of players, the trainer's call, coaches decision???? How is it determined. If I'm playing Gaffney/DF/NW and have 5 key players out, is that enough to cancel? If I were playing Fort Mill, riverside, or Stall, and those same 5 were out, would we call it?

Not suggestions, just comments I've read or heard since Saturday morning....

1. Gaffney might have something to say about that.

2. Dorman must not be allowed to lose to a good football team early. Dorman always gets better as the season goes on. Severe over reaction.

3. Maybe the case with Hanna.... Maybe not. The Greenwood coach did say Laurens was more talented this year. He would know because he coached there. Liner is a pretty straight shooter.

4. Really hope that's not the case.

5. Greer started slow last year and had an impact player transfer to IMG. The Greer QB is pretty good but maybe doesn't have the weapons around him like last year. Or maybe Byrnes is close to being back to their standard. I think 55 points and their scrimmage against Greenwood can make a good case for the rebels.

6. Scared to play for what reason? Covid? Or are they using covid as an excuse to dodge a butt whipping? Time will surely tell.....
