Duluth High School, a 7A school from the greater Atlanta area, will travel to Central to face off with my Lions this Friday. Duluth had their game vs. Stone Mountain canceled and Daniel already had an open week.
This will hopefully be some great competition for Daniel in their non-region schedule.

Re: Daniel vs Duluth
Don’t worry dub I already watched some film on their offense and the OL at Duluth better work at today and tomorrow’s practice if they want to let their team have a chance against Daniels DL. They look athletic on both sides I think they will be what we though West Ashley would’ve been.

Re: Daniel vs Duluth
Sounds good . I know If you can’t block 8 you ain’t winning.
And I don’t think there’s a lineman that can after what I saw him do that Clemson commit of Greenville’s.

Re: Daniel vs Duluth
Just watched a little more film on Duluth this afternoon and I think the keys for tonight’s game are simple.
1- Can Duluth’s OL handle the Daniel DL?
It’s no secret that Daniel has possibly the best DL in the state. Everyone who started last year is back and they can get after it. Duluth has good skill athletes on Offense and their OL has some big boys but they weren’t impressive. Will they be able to hold their own?
2- Will Daniel’s O continue to roll against the Duluth D?
Since Page Wofford came in 2018 and implemented his system at Daniel there has only been maybe 3 games where the offense struggled to put points up. But the Duluth Defense looked pretty good on film. This could be a big test for the Lions offense but we will just have to see if the Duluth boys are up for the competition.
3- Can Daniel limit the penalties and keep up momentum?
Last week Daniel had 14 flags. Some were questionable. Some were definitely not a penalty. But either way the penalties hindered with the momentum that team uses as fuel to score 50+ points on a weekly basis. We saw as soon as the second half starts what happens when they get the momentum back. If the flags fly like last week Duluth can make Daniel pay more than Easley did.

Re: Daniel vs Duluth
We just beat a pair of 6A powerhouses from Georgia in back to back week. Don't be surprised if they really disappoint you. The talent level across the river leaves a lot to be desired.
The "Godfather" didn't whine like The "Slobfather" is doing, when he got INDICTED!!!!!
Re: Daniel vs Duluth
They say teams improve the most from game 1to game 2.
I hope that’s the case tonight. This is their first game and from what I’ve seen they remind me a little of the ridge view team from 2 years ago but not as crisp or disciplined.
Still 7a and over 3000 students they should have athletes.
Of course as Allen Sitterle said one time after he beat a N Augusta team that sent out a 100 players for the coin toss.
You can only play 11 at a time. Daniel won that night 31-7 on route to a state title.

Re: Daniel vs Duluth
Another Lions Win 41-19. Wasn’t the prettiest game overall but I thought our guys played well all the way through. The Duluth offense was atrocious and poor tackling and a few chunk passes got them in position to score. There are still things to clean up but I’m happy we got the win and next week we head to Laurens who look very solid early this season.
Go Daniel Lions!!
Re: Daniel vs Duluth
We left 24 or more points on the field. Still no where near full stride. But better than last week especially with the penalties. This week it was turnovers.
Pearman is pressing to much trying to make the hard play instead of the easy play. Has to get rid of the ball. That sack at the end of the half really cost us a viable scoring opportunity. Love the way the kid plays but he’s playing like he has something to prove and he doesn’t.
Lawson is just an absolute monster . The defense made some great open field tackles but we were fortunate they dropped some easy balls in the first. That team should really be better than they were. Looked great coming off the bus and that 6’ 6 TE should’ve been used more in one on one situations. Coaches seemed to care for them and maybe it’s a culture thing that their turning around.
No support obviously by the crowd size maybe had 20 fans
They had well over 50 on their roster
