Daniel vs Hendersonville

Well since no one in state will play us, for the second week in a row we’re getting someone in a neighboring state.
Traveling to Hendersonville Friday at 7:30
They’ve actually been lighting it up so should be fun.
Never been to a game there but have been by their stadium a many a time. It’s really a cool old school field in the middle of town. Just glad we’re playing.

Last week was the first time in 25 years we played a team out of state and now we get to do it in back to back weeks. They’re coming off a pretty good playoff run in the spring and have some solid players including their QB who looks like a good athlete. The only question is can their OL matchup against our DL. If they can we might have a game. If not then they’ll be in for a long night.

I know very little about them except they are scoring 55 a game and their coach is Jim Sosebee who used to be at Greenville.
I watched him make one of the stupidest coaching moves of all time in 2010.
Third round of the playoffs and we were down like 10-6
We held Greenville and they had to punt from about their own 30.
On the other end was Deandre Hopkins.
I said out loud if they kick it to the most dangerous man in the state their crazy.
Well they did just that and he took it back 70 yards for the winning score.

Anyway maybe one day we can get together on a game . The season ain’t over.
Have you noticed teams like ours Gaffney Abbeville fort
You know the good teams with some exceptions a don’t have a problem with covid or cancellation of games on their end. Amazing how that works out like that.
It seems y’all are getting back to some normalcy .

Btw Pickens is playing Pisgah Forest this week also .
So it’s a Pickens county invasion into NC this week.

The winner of the Pickens Easley game will win that region this year

It just baffles me that Daniel won’t schedule a hard non conference games the last couple years. Heck you had the chance to play Dutch Fork or Northwestern. I remember Daniel use to play Spartanburg, Dorman or Byrnes back in the day. I think it would have been fun to watch them play Northwestern. Especially since Page Wofford put Daniels offense together and that’s why they are where they are. But I guess Daniels coach would rather have an easy W then a close L to a good or great team.

They play in the upper state and wouldn’t have to face them again until Columbia and that would also give them not only a challenge but experience in playing them. Them playing Chester makes no sense we all know who’s going to win that game.

From what i heard is both wanted a home game. Df has yet to play at home and.NW wasnt willing to travel and prefer a home game

We had 22 in quarantine last monday got a few back weds
Maybe 10 ot so out friday including starters .dorman had a few out also.
Lucky we had enough oline to make a go of it.
Qb got racked a few times .so he sat the 4th .
We survived . Young guys had to grow uo on the fly in that game .
Got torched here and there but it was expected no ones perfect.
Both teams got a good work out and will get better.

Yet they’re playing Chester @ Chester lol. Hell they come to the Columbia area for all their region games except 1, so I really don’t see the excuse in them not wanting to travel or it being too far.
