Saluda has scored 52 points TWICE in 3 games.............did it the first game against Strom Thurmond and did it again tonight............they scored 43 last week on a very good RSM football team............Saluda is going to challenge Abbeville this year and what i respect most about Abbeville fans is they all hope i am right, they would LOVE to see one for the ages with Saluda this year...........they love a challenge when they can find one.............

I would also say that Gray collegiate will also be in the mix after their impressive win over ridge view tonight.

The smaller classification teams have come up big this week.

Saluda is looking strong, but, R-S-M gave up 50 to Lewisville last night. Mid Valley is weak. The margin of victory over ST is very impressive no question. GC has beaten some very good teams, they are in the mix absolutely.

Saluda has a good team and excellent coaching. ST is a shell of it's former self and has been down for years now.

When is the coaching change at ST coming..............because that is the problem...............i remember this coach's first game............i was listening on the radio and you could hear his assistant coaches cursing like drunken sailors over the radio at the refs and at opposing fans................i knew right then that this wasn't going anywhere..............

Maybe ST should try to hire the Saluda coach. He is a good one. Just sayin.

Don't you dare! lol

He is an outstanding coach and built a Saluda program from the bottom up with practically no success or football tradition since the 70's. Completely changed the community's outlook on Football and did so all within a 2 year span. I was a junior when he was hired, and it was awesome to be a part of.

To entertain your thought, I could definitely see him drawing attention. Wouldn't be surprised if he's already been offered by ST. But that man really loves Saluda and has already built roots here. I can't speak for anyone but I think it would take a lot more for him to leave this place. He played ball at Union and PC so I'm sure he would at least entertain those if offered, but to be honest I think he loves it here. Saluda has a great fan base who loves to participate, but also, after so many years of not being so good, our fans also don't put a lot of pressure on winning year in and year out. Makes it easier to coach at places who support you, but don't pressure you, and buy in to your process.

That's also not to say that it would matter any way as Young is a very intrinsically motivated fella. Even if he coached somewhere with little to no expectation of success, he would still build it for his own satisfaction. But for comparison purposes, it is a lot more attractive as a coach to go somewhere with high expectation, but also a high level of understanding lol.

The players love him, the school loves him, the town loves him, and I think he really appreciates that wide array of support.

Plus, I love seeing him and Nickles go at it. Wouldn't mind if it stayed like this forever! Hahaha

you think saluda folks don't like ST now, this move would incite a riot! haha
With the talent ST has and with what is coming thru the next few years, that guy would run out of fingers and toes to put rings on.
