I figured I would start a post to track region play for the region, and playoff seeding. According to the bracket put out by the HSL, 5 teams from the region make the playoffs this year.
Last week:
Saluda 43, Eau Claire 0
Gray 42, Batesburg 0
Newberry 34, Columbia 0
Newberry, Saluda, and Gray all but clenched a playoff birth with wins in week 1 of region play. With 5 teams making it, it would be very difficult for any of these 3 to miss the playoffs. I don't see any way that Columbia and Eau Claire both make the playoffs. If I had to bet, I would say these 5 teams make the playoffs, Newberry, Gray, Saluda, Batesburg, Columbia.

Re: Region 3 AA
This week has a big time match up, with Saluda traveling to Newberry. Both teams are coming off of shut out wins over the 2 Columbia schools in the region to open up region play last week. I don't see Gray or Batesburg having any trouble this week.

Gray at Columbia
Batesburg at Eau Claire
Current Standings
Saluda 1-0 43-0
Gray 1-0 42-0
Newberry 1-0 34-0
Columbia 0-1 0-34
Batesburg 0-1 0-42
Eau Claire 0-1 0-43
This weeks schedule:
Saluda at Newberry
Gray at Columbia
Batesburg at Eau Claire
Current Standings
Saluda 1-0 43-0
Gray 1-0 42-0
Newberry 1-0 34-0
Columbia 0-1 0-34
Batesburg 0-1 0-42

Re: Region 3 AA
After last week's games, Saluda and Gray are set up for region title showdown. Gray beat Columbia, and Saluda used a fast start to control start to finish over Newberry. Eau Claire has COVID, so I'm not sure what the region procedure is for games that are cancelled due to COVID.
This weeks games:
Saluda at Gray- region title on the line
Newberry at Eau Claire - doubt it happens
Batesburg at Columbia
Standings are week 2:
Gray 2-0 92-0
Saluda 2-0 89-26
Newberry 1-1 60-46
Batesburg 1-1 I guess it goes as a Eau Claire forfeit, but I don't know.
Columbia 0-2 0-84
Eau Claire 0-2
This weeks games:

The game goes how KZ Adams goes. If Saluda can slow him down, they can win. If he is able to get going, it could be a long night. If Newberry does end up being cancelled against Eau Claire, which I figure they will since Eau Claire wouldn't play last year, I may ride over to Saluda.Creekwater Werts wrote: ↑Mon Oct 11, 2021 9:42 amThanks for keeping up with this, Big Dog! Momentum will be a big factor in a matchup with two explosive offenses.

Montrevious Baker for Saluda is a outstanding running back.Creekwater Werts wrote: ↑Mon Oct 11, 2021 10:48 amHe's tough. Sure is! Looking forward to this one. Hey 96 Fanatic, go check out that Rabun Co vs. Saluda thread you started a while back. Work got a little backed up during September so I never saw your response about the brooks boys. Just responded the other day!96fanatic wrote: ↑Mon Oct 11, 2021 12:09 pmMontrevious Baker for Saluda is a outstanding running back.Creekwater Werts wrote: ↑Mon Oct 11, 2021 10:48 amHe's tough.
