Abbeville vs Saluda

Post by *Topcat* »

Any thoughts here? I expect a hard fought game for sure. Saluda blew out a bunch of teams, lost to 2 very good ones. Abbeville handled their business every week. Both teams are explosive on offense and score a lot of points, lot of speed for sure. There will be points scored, I believe it comes down to getting stops on defense and the Abbeville defense has been very stingy, they are very quick to the ball and pass defense is better than some other years. I'm going with my hometown Panthers, nobody has stopped us, I believe we score enough, and the D gets enough stops. As always, ball security will be very important in this game. Should be a good one, looking forward to it.

the difference.I hope it will be a good
close game.no fun to watch a blow out.

Good luck to Abbeville...my wildcats came into A-Town last week undermanned, but played hard till the end. Met some very nice people in Abbeville and it's hard to see a team that can match up with them for 4 qtrs..very impressive team.

This game has been wanted since 2019. Saluda unfortunately didn't make the playoffs last year. I'll never forget going to Saluda for a basketball game and they honored the state championship football that night. It's was a bitter, petty, and very classless move. No one that was there from abbeville will ever forget that. I'm hoping for an injury free game for the Panthers play our game limit turnovers and penalties. Atown by 20 see y'all Friday. Go Panthers

I don't expect Abbeville to be challenged until they play Gray Collegiate.

No offense to Crescent, but the best 3 teams in AA might be playing in the part of the bracket against each other this week and next... and not even be in the same quarter final bracket yet.

It might be like Goose Creek losing to River Bluff in the 1st round in 2014 for AAAA... everybody else said, "Well H ELL, we might can win this thing!!!"

I don't think this happens, but....

Abbeville 49-34 over Saluda was about the point spread i expected, but, definitely more points than I expected. I haven't checked yet but suspect we probably had 400 yard rushing, Saluda probably had 300 passing. The difference was we made a few stops on them whereas they did not stop us at all. No punts. It was an entertaining game, though very long and tough on the kids from both teams. Saluda has a very young, good team and had a fine season. We move on to face GC, hope we recover from this one fast. Very tough game for a 2nd rounder. Go Panthers!

Great review as always...it was over 400 yds rushing. It was also some of the most soft coverage I ever seen called by Coach Belton but we moving on to Gray....Let's Go Panthers
