Conway athletics is full of politics. The ones close to the program use the keep it in the family as the only priority. That’s the only thing that matters. I’m going to be perfectly honest and say that I love Coach Jordan and all he accomplished and did for Conway high school but I blame him for the culture that we’re fighting now. He created it by never going out and hiring the best coaches he could for any sport. That’s why Conway only has one state championship in any sport in school history. That was a boys tennis championship in the mid 70’s. Conway is a sleeping giant in many sports especially football. I was so looking forward to the day when Coach Jordan decided to retire that we would hire a coach to take us to elite status. We were close at one time but now look what we have? Then the excuses going around for him is we don’t have the talent we used to. That’s nothing but excuses. Weight room, coaching and development makes talent. Nothing has changed here. Bottom line is the ones making decisions aren’t committed to winning. The fans and community as a whole are and always has been. Money and support in the stands have never been a problem. Back in the day we used to have more fans on the road than some home teams. The band traveled and we took over other teams stadiums. The program is so bad now it’s a complete rebuild.

You are actually blaming Coach Jordan??? WOW!!! He wasn't AD the last few years and hasn't been at Conway in 5... So he hasn't been AD in at least 7-9 years... Maybe it is that we had an interim AD for 2-3 years with no power...or a new Principal who did not want to make waves...but how could anyone blame Coach Jordan for the current state of the athletics?

Your reading comprehension level must be low. I didn’t blame him for the current situation but he did create the culture that is the problem at Conway now by being the AD for nearly 30 years. He did all the hiring correct? Until the mindset changes Conway will never recover and live up to its potential.

Oh I read what you wrote correctly then.. you blame the current culture on someone who hasn't made a hire in 8 years ..LOL! half of the football staff wasn't even under Jordan. CT hired them. In 8 years EVERY SPORTS PROGRAM AT CONWAY COULD HAVE CHANGED THE CULTURE BY THEN.... Those sports programs are responsible for the current culture...not someone who was AD 8 years ago.

That doesn’t mean I agreed with everything he did. Nobody is going to agree on everything. The man was done wrong and I would still be supporting him today if he were still the coach. At this point it doesn’t matter what the past is. It’s about the future and the current leadership that is not getting the job done. There needs to be a change.

Amen! Everyone needs to come together and do what’s best for the kids and the community. If we don’t want the best for our kids then somethings wrong. We should want the best coaches we could possibly get them so they have a chance to compete at the highest level and win championships.

Onion Rings you’re more than likely right on them not doing anything. Most of us are in some sort of business. If your not doing your job, you are warned etc. then you are fired. What makes this particular situation worse is that the coach inherited a decent situation with a talented team. As noted above it seems it’s a total rebuilding job now. If there is not a move made, I am sure next August we’ll get the 2022 preview on tv before the season on how Conway is back then they win 1 game probably against a cupcake they scheduled.

Still waiting on Conway but everything is quiet. I have no faith the administration will do what’s right for the kids and community. The fans have spoken with attendance and money. Nothing else we can do. At this point it’s just like many of us believe. The administration doesn’t care about winning football.
