Okay, I had heard some rumors, but nothing to confirm them yet.

I don’t know either man, but it’s not inconceivable to think that a fatter paycheck can make you interested in moving jobs. One advantage about Dorman over NW is it’s the only HS in the district. Not competing with South Pointe and RH for resources.stretch wrote: ↑Tue Nov 30, 2021 7:00 pmTake Page Wofford and Jeff Fruster off the list. Played for both and still talk to both of them often and I know 100% they are at their dream jobs and there’s no way either leave NW or Daniel. Only college coaching could get them away from where they’re at.AngryMax wrote: ↑Tue Nov 30, 2021 10:38 amWhat about Page Wofford?
He can modernize the offense, bring a different type of energy. Plus I’m pretty sure Rock Hill schools lag behind the other bigger cities in the state with HC pay. Hard for me to believe he’s making even $85K in RH.
Also gotta think Jeff Fruster at Daniel has shown he can lead a program with great history and expectations.
Other guys I’d be on the lookout for:
Brian Lane, Clover
Porter
Victor Floyd, Chester
Reggie Kennedy, Manning
Collin Drafts, Nease HS, FL but from SC and had AC Flora set for their recent success
Kyle Richardson
Brian Rimpf, Camden
Aaron Brand, Irm
Also, we all know this, but there will be a lot of out of state interest in this job.
In the case of Fruster, in addition to pay increase (most likely), there could always be the desire to challenge himself at the highest level in SC HS FB.
Also, no disrespect, but most coaches, especially those with good jobs, aren’t gonna talk about wanting other jobs.

Pickens county has one of, if not the worst coaching supplements in the Upstate. Clemson is a great place, but it's still Pickens county.AngryMax wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 2:12 pmI don’t know either man, but it’s not inconceivable to think that a fatter paycheck can make you interested in moving jobs. NWest... not the biggest payday district. BUT, it is a 'legacy' school. Money doesn't always turn somebody's crank.

Lol. Matt, I actually logged on tonight to see who had won the Spartanburg/Gaffney contest and saw a post from CSB, then I knew.Newcatntown wrote: ↑Thu Nov 25, 2021 7:17 amWell, well, WELL.....Bout time you posted you damn energy monger!!!chief shooting bull wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 7:55 pmI would like to throw Donnie Littlejohns name in the hat.![]()

I’d be surprised if it was Brian Lane. His lackluster record with the Rebs will be a problem. He had that great run two years ago with Clover but we all know he had some serious thoroughbreds that year.AngryMax wrote: ↑Tue Nov 30, 2021 10:38 amWhat about Page Wofford?

I’d really not prefer to see a SC journeyman coach get the position. It’s not as if Lane didn’t get a chance to helm a premier program with the fabled BMW talent pool…i kid. I kid.
There were a lot of voices that said Lane didn’t get a fair shake at Byrnes and I tended to think that was the case after we played Clover in ‘19 but I’m not so sure now. People talk about talent available. Get a coach that can turn no names into a winning team.

True about the Northwestern talent pool. We all know South Pointe took it’s toll on D3 stadium.
I’m kind of amazed that Trojangrad78 isn’t in this conversation. It seems like all he talks about is Kyle Richardson’s legacy.

Lane made a HUGE mistake at Byrnes in that he hired like you do at a smaller school... get your buddies on staff.DeCav wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 10:48 pmI’d be surprised if it was Brian Lane. At a 5A school, you have to hire the best coach available at every single position.... even if that coach knows twice as much as you do about his position.. i.e. Bobby Bently was offense, so he hired the best DC he could find, and we all know Chris Miller was and still is one of the best defensive minds in high school coaching.

Bobby and Chris were/ still are great coaches on their own, but together they were lethal. Coached together for 7 seasons, 4 titles and basically played for the 3 more state titles.
