Id prefer to go back to the big 16 .
It would be interesting to see who the BIG 16 are now. The biggest thing is an 0-10 team can make the playoffs, I'm not in favor of anything that means a team like that makes the playoff. I'm OK with splitting the brackets after the season like we did a few years. 16 largest schools in Division One, next 16 in Division Two.

To many classifications .to much crap .
I could go on but ...
Yeah, that seems to be a common thing on here.

I hate our region . Id love for region not to count .
We waste our time playing stall . That game gets our subs in but iron sharpens iron .
Kind of like the NFL, all games count toward the playoffs. I very much like this idea; but we may need to have at least one or maybe two games for those rivalry games like Byrnes -vs- Greer, Gaffney -vs- Union, where the smaller school might cancel if that game counted against them.

To be honest 2 and 6 Berkeley made it in.as well as a bad summerville team may have bern one of the worst preforming (injury bug nailed them also) ville teams in history. Niether had any buisness in the playoffs
Nothings perfect . Maybe a mark off or two.
It cant be any worse .

Coach Jordan had the best solution for all parties... not that you can satisfy all parties. But coaches and ADs were too short sighted and stubborn to see how it bridged all the possible issues, and made a platform that would have created what the collective would have wanted.

Does anyone have the enrollment numbers? I’ve yet to see them posted anywhere.

The Dept of Education numbers were bouncing around on some sites but I have not seen the HSL's final numbers after all the adjustments & allocations were made.

Maybe I don’t understand, but what’s the purpose of playing football in one region but playing all the other sports in another region? Why don’t they just put the non-football playing schools in a region together? I thought the purpose of regions were based on travel then why are some teams traveling further than they were before?

There are several schools in 1A and 2A that do not play football.

Re-alignment is done considering ALL sports.

Then they look at football, and do a re-shuffle to ensure that 1A and 2A have balanced football regions.

Correct. I didn't really understand their logic until I looked at the 1A map.
There are 27 schools in the upper state which they have divided up into 4 regions. 7 - 6 - 7 - 7
Only 21 of those schools have football teams so they divide up the 6 schools in region two to form 3 evenly sized regions for football. 7 - 0 - 7 - 7

It will be interesting to see how the Football Brackets are set up for this realignment.

7 Regions, all have 5 teams except Region 3 {which has 6 teams} for a total of 36 teams.

So would 32 of 36 teams make the playoffs?

I still see nothing on the www.schsl.org to state if 5A Region 4 is Upper State or Lower State.
