Does anybody have any updates as to when or if they will post the job? The whole process is becoming comical but not surprising.

WildStallion2 - a creative offensive mind is going to win the day ultimately. SP consistently has speed on the perimeter on offense and defense - but not always on the OL. When SP is good on the OL; there have been years I would have lined us up against anybody including most of the National program/private schools.
We don't consistently produce big OL/DL types though. So, having an offense that can take advantage of what you do have would be ideal.

I am the old Mania. I’m still in Carolina Forest. It is hard getting to any game outside of Horry County on Friday nights. The Stallions are always fun to watch. For the most part they believe in themselves and believe they should always win. The coach that takes over that job needs to understand and cultivate that. It is similar to Gaffney, but different. Gaffney has decades upon decades of tradition. South Pointe only has a decade and a half of tradition.even though there are some legacy players on the team from Rock Hill and Northwestern, it is different. They have adopted South Pointe to support. A hot shot coach from another area may be a good fit, but the alumni backing won’t be as supportive. Where as Gaffney can get behind a Phill Strickland or Joe Montgomery.. That is just my opinion.

Good to hear something from you "Mania" aka Maniac!

I had forgotten you moved; but yep. I see CF has had a few solid teams up there; but just never putting it all together enough to contend. My question since you are in Horry County is: "whatever happened to Conway"?

I would say they had the same thing happen to them as Rock Hill High - but Conway didn't lose that many kids to CF did they? Not enough I wouldn't think to make them go down as bad as they have.
Mania - I try and tell people to this day; "enjoy your time on top"! IT doesn't last and you are not entitled to it "solely"! People act as though anybody can coach South Pointe to a championship - big false! Big fat zero - stop - WRONG!
Conway, Byrnes, Spartanburg, Orangeburg-Wilkinson, Aiken are all schools just to name a few who always seem to have a ton of talented players! But, don't always win like one would think! I have to put Rock Hill in that(sorry dude).
Be thankful when you have a great coach and don't take them for granted is all I can say! I think Rock Hill High wins at least 1 or two more championships between 02 and now with a different HC. Same could be said at multiple(previously mentioned schools).

I hope the powers that be don't mess this up in short!

Be good Mania!

Good point. Not just anybody can coach South Pointe to a title. I’ve been blessed to have witnessed many South Pointe thrillers. It was an admirable thing that Holloman went out on top. The program buy in should be high going into next year and is good timing for bringing in a new coach. One that may have a longer stay with the program. Program excitement is everything in high school athletics. I remember bumping into some Clover players the summer before they won a state championship. Those guys really believed they were going to do it. And they did.

And those two guards pulling in front of him. I think one was a Shrine Bowler, and the other was a North/South participant. Pretty easy to call plays with that setup. Talent trumps everything.

Mcgill was a Man! But pretty sure he was playing at UNC when Clover won the State Championship. Talented team and kept the ball the majority of the game
