Re: South Pointe
I sure hope it being this late in the year, that he doesn’t try to make too many changes to the offense or change any of the Coaching Staff like he did at Marlboro County. https://scnow.com/sports/high-school/at ... 7.amp.html
Re: South Pointe
Very much so. Odd hire to say the least, but then again maybe not so odd when one thinks about it. He took over a program at Marlboro that was pretty good. Hard to imagine what overcame that fact in the interview. Maybe he knew somebody.

Re: South Pointe
This was my 1st thought when I heard the hire announced. Marlboro County is known for having big, strong athletic kids.
South Pointe has had State championship winning teams w/o a superior OL. When South Pointe has really good OL play matched with the skill players the Stallions and Saluda Trail seem to continue to churn out: "the Stallions are near unbeatable"! 18 and 08 teams had dominant OL and some great skill players.
BC - if he isn't careful going in as you said WildStallions2 "might lose this team and community early"! We did go to state running the flexbone; but he had Clowney and Dixon as well.
We tend to produce more WR body types rather than big bruising RB types! He had some really nice RB's at Lancaster that I thought were sure FBS players. Don't know what ever happened to them; but they were awesome.
If he is going to be 3 yards and a cloud of dust "all I can say is I hope he has early success"! Changing a system that has brought so much success to one that requires "much of what South Pointe doesn't consistently have(big body OL types) is risky in my mind and something I hope the administrators took in mind"!
Until proven otherwise though; I am with Coach B. Collins! Go Stallions!
Choose to Lead or you should choose to "get out the way" of those who will lead!
Straight To The Fire
We open with Gaffney this year!
Wow!
All I can say is, "don't bank on just running the football against them"! Not with any consistency anyway!
QB wise - WildStallion2 - I know(not sure about you) many people thought the JV QB was good enough to start for varsity last year. I never saw him live - but did see a few videos of him. He's nice! What about RB? WR? Have you heard anything about where Jenerette signed or if he signed? Whoever gets that kid is getting a FBS caliber 4 or 5 star player. His problem was picking up football too late and giving it his full attention.
I know Saluda Trail was very good but that's par for the course. BC is going to get tested early with a young team against the "big boy" Champs! I recall a few times when Lancaster was pretty good saying, "they need to pass it more"! Man, the more I think about it the more nervous I get. Is he the primary play-caller as well?

Jenerette signed with Independence CC, This might be the Quarterback your talking about, he is 6’2” Malachi Marshall, Aidan Turner is one of the Running Backs.

Check Out this South Pointe State Championship Ring, It is as big as the College National Champ rings.
Re: South Pointe
Thanks WS2!!!!!
Them "RANGS" are nice! Enjoy them for like "A Week" and get back to the grind!
More Hunting left to do!
Malachi looks the part from the video I saw. Still, hoping he isn't just wasting that arm talent with a scheme that is going to insist on "running into brick walls"!
Hoping I hear some news about Coach Collins "stepping outside his comfort zone and gearing his knowledge with the skill available"! I was secretly hoping they were trying to work something out with Coach Lane over there in Clover! He was at Clover which is a good school for certain positions; but not above average in skill players. With his scheme it seemed to be a mismatch; somewhat like Coach Collins is to South Pointe(ground it out vs. pitching it around). Collins would have done great things in Clover with the type of solid OL and RB types they seem to have a plethora of.
LOL! Awful squeamish about this and certainly share your concern WildStallion2! But for now! South Pointe Stallions Football needs to just celebrate this moment and savor it!

Re: South Pointe
Very interesting hire and not in a good way. He is coming in at a great time. Nevertheless, the offense shouldn’t be the big issue. Stopping a possible train of transfers will be the issue. Slowing down the game on offense and riding a strong defense won’t be a bad strategy for South Pointe and may be a sustainable formula for success ie Bobby Carroll. They will have to pass more of coarse, than Collins is used to, but having a strong running attack favors South Pointe too.
