Knotts has always had excellent QB play. But he better get better QB play than he got in the state championship game this past year. QB mistakes alone were the cause of at least a 10 pt swing in that game with bad decisions. Would figure that sticks in Knotts craw quite a bit.

Tough to play well when you're sick. Everyone in Columbia was talking about Covid or the flu being all across the DF team and coaching staff, but they played anyway. I mean, they PLAYED - the sick kids played and the sick coaches coached.

Knotts made comments postgame about people not knowing everything the team had to deal with in the days before the Championship Game. Sounded like he was confirming the rumors.

Everything will be won by the upstate, except for the recruiting division of 2A. 1A will be won by recruiting also, but they are in the upstate. I know DF is technically lower state on paper, but they are on they are 10 miles west of Columbia, so they are upstate.

Early picks

5A ) 3 horse race DF Gaffney and the burg
4A) the deepest division in schsl
I count 10 teams that could win it
South pointe( new coach) Northwestern Greenville Greenwood Improving Irmo Flora south Florence
Improving Wilson MB and NMB even Hartsville
3A) You already know
2A) I don’t see Grey doing what they did last year
I think Abbeville returns and Silver Bluff will there to face them
1A) Southside Christian until someone proves otherwise

But it’s still early anything can happen over the next two months

S Florence and S Pointe played a "pick up" game last year @SP, and it went to 3OT. SF hosts SP this year in week 3. I am so looking forward to that game. :)

Onion I considered FD and I think their on that next tier
With Sumter Dorman maybe spring valley the way they finished even ridge view

I think there’s still to many question marks there and they were loaded last year and couldn’t get it done at home against DF

Even FD fans on here have expressed concerns they have going into the season.

Always a threat though with the athletes they have.

Would love to see a Midlands sweep (well save 1A no Cola power there)...DF, Irmo, LR, Grey...but...you know if ifs and buts were coconuts...

Injuns are right. If DF had COVID they would have reported it and they would have to forfeit the game. There were other things they had dealt with earlier in the season that were worse. A case of the flu is something you deal with. Mistakes were costly and that was the difference. DF made them, the Injuns didn't. Just time to start a new win count...that's all.
