The Dorman hire is questionable. Saw them a couple times last year. They are a magnet school in Columbia so draw a lot of talent as is proven by their excellence in most every sport where in days gone by they only were good at baseball. And in actuality he inherited a sweet situation. The coach that preceeded him was the coach that turned it around. They had lost something like 14 in a row, over a couple years, then that coach turned it around, made a deep run in the playoffs, then took a job in Florida. So Curtis was the benefactor of a table that was fully set. Now Dorman hasn't exactly been what they used to be in the playoffs the last couple if years. But I still expected much more of a splash hire. We will see.

So you think this will be the Dorman season?

Curtis went 28-4 in 3 years at Flora with a state title
He lost 2 of those games last year by a combined 2 points
A program that has never done a thing
True the guy before him did turn the corner going 9-3 his last year . But Curtis got them over the hump.
For what it’s worth another coach in that region Reggie Shaw went 28-21 in a 4 year span at the school.
Just saying apples to apples I think it’s a good hire but that’s why they play the games. I wouldn’t judge off his first year but if they go 7-3 or 8-2 with a couple of playoff wins then watch out .

There will be some kid on the Dorman roster that can chunk the ball and I am sure he will have several that can get open and catch it. Just got to utilize them. I am fairly certain he will realize he can't just line up and ram it down everyone's throat, especially in that region.

Regardless of the outcome for D6 vs. D5; the response will be which one stole the the "best" coach from A.C. Flora.

The one in D5 has the short leash. The one in D6 has a shorter leash than he thinks.... Gutshall polished a golden turd.

With that change alone, it would be a totally different concept for Dorman. From what I've heard from Dorman fans, the staff and team is very excited and can't wait for August to get here.

The schedule is laid out with what could be, a couple of tough home games early against Greenville (I'm not sure what they are bringing back from last season) and Greenwood (which I'm thinking will be a great team this season) and the Region Games include home games against Byrnes and Spartanburg and a trip to Gaffney. First thoughts on the non-region schedule would be: 5-1 record. Region: 1-3 or 2-2 with the swing game being the home match up with Byrnes.

8/19 Dorman VS Greenville
8/26 Dorman AT North Augusta
9/2 Dorman VS Greenwood
9/9 Dorman BYE
9/16 Dorman AT Clover
9/23 Dorman VS River Bluff
9/30 Dorman AT Boiling Springs
10/7 Dorman AT Mauldin
10/14 Dorman VS Byrnes
10/21 Dorman AT Gaffney
10/28 Dorman VS Spartanburg
.
