Random 3A Football Thoughts

Somewhere on that top ten has to be Clinton Powdersville and possibly Gilbert

Powdersville beat wren twice last year and have most of their key players returning

Clinton is still in the rebuilding process but have made tremendous strides and I think they are better than say a Chapman at this point

Gilbert has been consistently knocking on the door the last 3 years. Including destroying Dillon 2 years ago.

I think Clinton is out of any rebuilding phase. They are there, and probably on an annual basis. Do agree that they have passed Chapman. Chapman has slipped from their dominant status from a couple years back.

But as long as Daniel is rolling around in 3A, discussions of anybody is winning it all is probably a mute point

I know the DWD faithful understand that Dillon won't be out of the hunt for long...they have the tradition, support and players. Would be fun to see them get back at it....would be like the old DWD and Fairfield Central rivalry back in the day.

Good to keep Clinton off the list for now. They’ve lost a lot of players, that senior class they had was huge in all sports and especially football.

I don’t think Fountain is the type of coach to let his program go backward. They might have a similar year to last year but I don’t expect much fall off.

Yeah...agreed. Might not be quite as strong as last year but solid nonetheless. Watched some of the Red Devils spring practice. Not a whole lot of real big kids that I could see but they had some kids with decent wheels and speed kills, we know that.

Decent list. But I would not have Dillon so high. Dillon had an D1-AA QB and a D1 Running Back in '21 and they still couldn't get past Camden. I've got Daniel winning state again in '22
