Dutch Fork
All things come to an end… what about the dynasty that is Dutch Fork, I’ve heard lately that Tom Knotts is ready to move on from Dutch Fork, I’ve heard he wants the Gaffney job. He could possibly apply for the Byrnes job if it comes open after this year, personally I think he would do great at Byrnes with his personality. Didn’t know if anyone else has heard this.
Re: Dutch Fork
I don't see Knotts leaving at this point. The rumor for years was that he was just waiting for the right opportunity to open up near the beach, but it never came about. I think Knotts is in his 60s. He still has plenty of firepower. And with the exception of two bone head plays by his QB he beats Gaffney last year. It wasn't like Gaffney ran them out and signaled a permanent changing of the guard.

Gaffney had a couple bonehead plays as well..good defense does that.Deputy wrote: ↑Sun Jul 03, 2022 8:13 pmI don't see Knotts leaving at this point. Mike, that’s old school thinking. We were taught great defenses wins championships and they do.mikey wrote: ↑Sun Jul 03, 2022 10:33 pmGaffney had a couple bonehead plays as well..good defense does that.Deputy wrote: ↑Sun Jul 03, 2022 8:13 pmI don't see Knotts leaving at this point. Re: Dutch Fork
Coach Knotts has a son that is 12 or 13 I think...I could see him staying there until he graduates and then he moves on- probably retires. I think he wants to retire on the Carolina coast somewhere. His son has been a ball boy there since he was not much bigger than a football himself.OLDFART51 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 04, 2022 6:06 amMike, that’s old school thinking. They probably didn't want to give up the money.Deputy wrote: ↑Sun Jul 03, 2022 8:13 pmI don't see Knotts leaving at this point. One school could have gotten him but they'd have to give up thier AD at the time to be able to pay what he demands . Probably should have .glad they didn't.
Re: Dutch Fork
I am just glad we have had him as long as we have and have Coach Knotts for a while longer. Have some talented players coming in this season...a couple WRs from other programs, including an Adidas All-American...looks to be a good fit for the program. Looking forward to what they can do this season.Fortfor5 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 08, 2022 7:07 pmThey probably didn't want to give up the money.Deputy wrote: ↑Sun Jul 03, 2022 8:13 pmI don't see Knotts leaving at this point.
