Re: Greenwood Jamboree
I have been very disappointed in Sheriff Kelley. If he can't handle a high school football game God forbid something really bad happening.
Re: Greenwood Jamboree
Hate to hear that.
Seems like should’ve cleared the stadium of everyone except family and allowed the kids to play that’s not fair to them especially Saluda who had to travel.

I agree but this day and age probably easier said than done
Afraid we gonna have more of things like this happen this year

Re: Greenwood Jamboree
I heard that some people reported hearing gunshots and that is why they cleared the stadium. I don't think there were gunshots but don't know for sure.
Re: Greenwood Jamboree
I was there.that gang of kids had a least 3 different fights in a
a period of an hour before the PA announcer told them to get
in the stands or leave the stadium.the police should have never
let it get that far.they waited to late to put a stop to it.

In other words, Dist. 50 and and the GCSO failed miserably last night but will do better next time. Pretty pathetic.

if they had put a stop to it when the first trouble started at
about 8 pm. but no they let more and more kids gang up and
it was about 9 pm when the PA announcer finally told them
to get in the stands or leave.he said it again about 5 minutes later
then about 5 minutes later they stopped the game and told
everyone to leave. Emerald and Ware Shoals didn't get to finish.
Greenwood and Saluda never took the field.

Re: Greenwood Jamboree
So let's summarize what we saw last night about how our LOCAL tax dollars are being spent. First we saw 2 football teams with high paid coaches that couldn't win the Pop Warner trophy this year, Emerald and 96.Between the 2 teams with the assistants and the costs of running the teams it is probably $300,000-$400,000 of local taxpayer dollars shot up a wild hogs butt; not a thing to show for it. Then we got to witness a fight between high school kids that the P.A. announcer had to address, who has no budget or funding, while the GCSO stood idly by with their 6 MILLION DOLLAR budget and did nothing for an hour until the entire event had to be shut down and everybody sent home. And the sad part, the same people who were ripped off last night will be in front of their computers today complaining about either the current or former President. And the folks in charge locally will continue to do a pathetic job for us and our kids. That folks, is on us.96fanatic wrote: ↑Sat Aug 13, 2022 4:32 pm100% correct.the more i think about it the more upset i get.greenjewel wrote: ↑Sat Aug 13, 2022 3:28 pmIn other words, Dist. 50 and and the GCSO failed miserably last night but will do better next time.
