Come on Tim, you know those Wolverines will be up by 50 at the half and coast to a 70-80 point win

I'm not sure Chapman is still the killer team they were when Hodge was there, but still very good. And Chapman has to be the luckiest team in the state. When they shift regions around Chapman always seems to land in a new region with a home field advantage in the playoffs, and this year into maybe the weakest region in 3 A. But Woodruff beating them? No. Woodruff is Woodruff. Pretty good. Will get in the playoffs, and maybe win a game. But not going to beat anyone of relevance

I'll return to this shortly.

But the fact you consider a Chapman team who graduated TEN offensive starters and is literally replacing EVERYONE on that side of the ball better than a Woodruff team returning 16 starters, most of their WR production, and a three-year starter at QB is a bit of a stretch to me. We will see come Friday, I suppose.
Legend, we have been down this road before. A few years back you were all over this forum saying the same thing. Chapman had lost a bunch of players, and you were proclaiming that Woodruff had a QB, can't remember his name, that was the best in the state who would easily be a D1 recruit. Didn't quite work out that way. Chapman has lost a step from the Hodge days, and will continue to. But to this point that feeder system they had set up still is funneling athletes into that program. Got a feeling you might be close, but will be disappointed once again. Woodruff will finish either 3rd, maybe 4th, in the region. May get another lucky draw in the playoffs to win a game, but that will be that.

I'm not going to say anything else from now until after the game. But know that if Woodruff wins this game I am coming to collect each and every receipt afterwards.

Good luck to everyone on Friday!
And on the eighth day, God created the Woodruff Wolverines

So to answer Decav’s question
2017 Chapman 48-14
18 Chapman 42-31
19 Chapman 49-35 and then in the playoffs 49-0
20 Chapman 45-14
21 Chapman 54-35

Again could Woodruff win yes
But the overwhelming notion that this is in the bag for woodruff is a little too out there.
The last Woodruff win versus Chapman was 2016; the only loss Chapman suffered on the way to the state title. Before that, Woodruff was pretty dominant for several years. This is becoming a good rivalry.

So going all the way back to 2016 is what your using to strengthen an argument that Woodruff is guaranteed a win in this game. That was the original topic. Again can Woodruff win this year based on what both teams have coming back? Yes they can but recent history says otherwise. I also recall last year after Daniel beat woodruff that many wolverine faithful came on this message board saying that Clinton would take care of us and we weren’t that great. How did that work out? Just be a little more realistic is what people are saying.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure I said nothing about a guaranteed win. All I said was the last Woodruff win was 2016. Before that, Woodruff was the dominant team in this rivalry for a few years. Ebb and flow in a rivalry makes it good. Woodruff may be due a win, but there is never a guarantee in this sport.

I'm not even a Woodruff fan, so please remove me from that crowd.

But as of late there’s been no ebb and flow. It’s been blowout after blowout. My point is . I’ll believe it when I see it. And sorry didn’t mean to lump you in with the delusions of grandeur crowd.

While we are on this subject, allow me to throw a stat out. Since Adams has taken over at Woodruff, Chapman is averaging 47.8 points per game against the Wolverines. Woodruff is going to have to find a defense to win games against good teams.
