RamFan, are you the same guy who used to rave about the waffle house and tractor pulls at the Byrnes games? DeCav...can you recall?

Have no clue what you are talking about. Seriously.

Just making point, I am as huge HS football fan as anyone but end of day the education is most important.

Trust me when I say I know what I am talking about on this issue , it was brought up several years ago to combine TL Hanna and Westside. Have to admit first thing I thought was that will be one heck of a football program but after doing thinking and research (my kids are out of school but just looked into it the pros/cons for my own curiosity). That would. put them well over 4K kids in 9-12 however down side is so many “average athletes “ would never make a team or at least never set foot on the field, court, or diamond. Then they start getting into things they should not and basically can ruin their lives before they get started all to make a sports team better

Main reasons Wanda is split , also main reason Greenville Cnty has added another school. The “experts” will tell you 2-2500 kids is top end of school size

I understand the frustration but in GWD defense they have played a very rough first 4 games

You are 100% correct, 2,000 is actually too big to have excellence in academics in most places.

For anyone who's reading this please keep in mind that any negativity towards The Greenwood Eagle coaches, kids, football team, fans, and/or community is not coming from Greenwood posters. That's all :D

I'm here! And have been for years and will continue to be on here win or lose. Can't say the same about the poster who only comments about Greenwood when they lose. That's fine too! Do what you feel. I will say this, based on your team affiliation you are in NO POSITION to comment anything negative about Gwood Football being an Emerald fan. Emerald hasn't ever defeated Greenwood in football. Not even when we had the previous coach. I always cheer for Emerald when they aren't playing Gwood but come on. If you want to shout gloom and doom for the school you cheer for be my guest. As for Greenwood, the season is far from over. Region play hasn't even started

Didn't mention the Waffle House, Rebels, or Chase Dodd. Plus his username was Ramm with two m's. Ram Fan is WAY too coherent to be Ramm.

Ramm was a troll back in the day on Palmetto Football Talk. He mainly trucked in absurd, manic posts that always mentioned the Waffle House, Chase Dodd, and as Colby pointed out some type of reference to the Rebels.

Hell, for all we know he was just a Waffle House manager in Duncan trying to bring in some Friday night business. His type of posts wouldn't be the least coherent type of conversations that I've picked up at a Waffle House before late on a Friday night.

I'm going to try and be the voice of reason, and I love Greenwood football. But not being real doesn't fix issues. The truth is they just aren't that good right now. It's not necessarily the kids, they're playing there butts off. If a scheme isn't working you have to mix it up in my opinion. If I keep running up against a cement wall waiting for it to break I will eventually run out of time. I would have to find another way to get around the wall. I've been saying for a few weeks that things need to diversify a little. We need to start developing our QBs so they can pass accurately and mix in more pass. I'm not saying abandon the option, but mix it up. Keep teams guessing. It is hard to beat really good teams running only unless you have an almost perfect team. They did go into gun late in the game, but it was well over by then.

I can't argue with you on that. I think we all can see we need to develop a passing game in the triple option. Maybe attempt 8 to 10 passes a game similar to Abbeville. We definitely can't be one dimensional against good teams like South Point, Greenville, South Florence, Hartsville, Northwestern and etc. We will be packing our bags and headed back home to the Eagle Nest while watching others go deep in the playoffs. We are exposed this year.

There were actually around 10 attempts in the last game, but most of those came when the game was in hand.

Big problems on the defensive side too. Greenwood is giving up 40 points a game to good teams. More than 30 to everybody except North Augusta. More than 40 in 2 games. Right now, everything is broke. But, they have an easy win coming next and that may help a lot. I would like for Greenwood to score 40 in that game, that would help, i think.
