It’s not just the Varsity either. It’s JV and Middle School. By hearing the scores at the JV level, it seems it will get worse than it is now. I heard their JV lost 60-8 to Carolina Forest JV. It really feels like the coaches they have now in Conway are over their head. Really need a full turnover and to hire a coach and assistant coaches that know how to develop a full system. Conway has the players. They just need a reset.

Hard watching them play. I could sit there and figure out the 3-4 plays they run on offense.

Tiger84 I didn’t know they hadn’t beat anybody with a winning record in 5 years. That’s probably why they scheduled Aynor and Loris this year.

The kids are visibly upset and frustrated. They don’t understand why they’re losing. This team may have the best group of skill players we’ve ever had on one team and yet the only offensive points they scored on …..

Loris 7
Aynor 7
St James 6

That’s on coaching and scheme.

The majority of supporters want CT to resign or be replaced but it remains to be seen what will happen. The support has dwindled every year since 2018 and I know the complaints are getting louder and more numerous. Some have continued to support the kids hoping for better but even those are leaving and beginning to complain. Most fans have been patient waiting for this to play out. I do know one thing though. If the administration refuses to fix this problem when the season ends next month then we know they do not care about giving our young people the best chance to succeed.

Yeah, this is tough to watch. I used to hate fighting my way through the 501 traffic to Conway when we were in the same class/region. I don't think I ever saw us win in the Backyard. I always respected that program and attened a few games there on the Tigger-side of the field during SF bye weeks. An epic win against MB about 10 years ago stands out in my mind.

How have the demographics changed in Conway? There's been lots of movement that way toward the beach.

It's a lot like Charleston, but without the lack of footballish stuff there.

Nothing has changed. Carolina Forest split off in 1997. Conway has played in four state championship games since then. CF was getting all the growth with the way the attendance lines are set up but Conway is really growing in our attendance area. Conway always had the best talent pool in the county and still does. In fact there’s actually been a substantial amount of people moving to Conway from the beach areas because taxes are higher closer to the beach. There’s plenty of talent not getting developed like it used too and that’s the problem. College football on Saturdays is littered with kids from Conway including a LB at Alabama and a LT at UCLA and Western Kentucky just to name a few.

We need a new administration! Until that happens we will never return to prominence.

If they haven’t done anything yet, it’s going to be another year of 2-3 win football year next year against 3 AAA teams and losing in a weak region, beating 1 team to get into the playoffs. Not a winning record since 2017 and correct me if I am wrong hasn’t beat anybody with a winning record of any classification since 2017? Not sure how any coach keeps their job after that especially with the tradition Conway “had.” The JV and middle school teams are worse. I guess they could still make a move but if it hasn’t happened yet, it’s probably unlikely. If they got a talented coach, there is tons of upside. So many playmakers on that team this year, but the coaching was poor, very bad time management and no creativity on offense with what could have been a top 10 QB in the state. If there is a coaching change there would be a huge rebuilding effort throughout the whole system, not just varsity.
