Points and Cross Bracketing [5A and 4A] What if...

Post by Rebel-Fan-74 »

mikey always wants to see how the bracket would look with a point system and seeding the teams regardless of UPPER STATE or LOWER STATE so I cranked up the spreadsheets and took at shot at it.

Some notes on the rules that I used to make this seeding and bracket:

1. The Region Champs seeded first.
2. Then Region Runner Ups seeded next
3. Finally, everyone in the pool, except the four teams that didn't make the bracket (Only four???)

The Points Breakdown is listed to the side:
Basically, it is based on the opponent's classification, do they have a winning record or not, and of course, did you WIN or LOSE the game...

Shown below are the Region standings that I used to make my projections and the current record and the points earned to date. Now I didn't break any ties, just left them as they sorted and went with that. I imagine there would be more quite a few more tweaks if this ever happened (maybe you would only count 8 games, tiebreaker system would be in place, etc). I guess I could come up with something more on those lines if I put my mind to it, but for now, this is the system as I have it so far. I mean, I'm doing this for mikey??? Is he worth all this trouble?

Harder picking the Region Champs and Region Runner Up in 4A for me...

This does not count this week's games just yet.

Definitely worth it. Salt of the earth.

He’s a blue blood. A member of the skeleton crew. Was here when I first got here. Will probably be here long after I’m gone.

Mikey was the first friend i made on the boards my first season. And he immediately introduced me to half a dozen new friends on the Byrnes side.

Since we’re flirting with the old points system maybe I should noodle around in the corner with some poster awards tripe?

Yeah, probably a bad idea. Some want an award so bad they’ll cheat to get extra votes.

Besides, I’d just rig the whole process anyways.

Thanks..I like those match ups..be interesting to see it after all is said and done..

While we are giving credit..as one former swabby to another 74 sorta squared me away when I first joined..I said sorta my friend.

It was the Byrnes folks that me feel welcome..went over there and they fed me Tripps BBQ on the house and it was damn good..I don’t know if it was because it was just that good or the funny one I smoked coming down 85..

It was CSB or Cannon’s doing’s in Clemson ,Columbia and Asheville..maybe Rock Hill but especially Asheville..all I’m gonna say :?

Been fun though..
