Region 6 #4 spot Wando already has the head to head over Berkeley.

Go Wave....

I changed it, but forgot to do the sort again...
Getting old, you forget things...

Cane Bay 4 0
Stratford 3 1
Goose Creek 2 2
Berkeley 0 4
Wando 1 3

T L Hanna replaces Hillcrest at #1 in Region One and Blythewood takes over in Region Three, and a couple of other changes as well.

Is it just me or are the Dutch Fork fans really loving them some Dutch Fork?

Is there a post from a Spartanburg, Dorman, Gaffney, or Byrnes fan expressing a desire for DF to be seeded as a lower-state team? I haven't seen this post but I'll be the first to admit that I haven't been reading every thread.

Beating your chest about your record against White Knoll, Lexington, Chapin, and Riverbluff?

I mean, just to make a lateral move logically, do any of these four teams have anything to beat their own chests about?

Just to keep things in perspective, that's just 4 questions and one innocuous statement. Just curious ol' me.
I don't know DeCav....seems those region teams got DF ready to play in every 5A state title game ever played in SC...don't you think? As I said earlier...with 7 regions, the midlands are the odd man out. Doesn't matter where we play to TK, players or the fans...Upper State Lower State... Come join us in Ballentine...

You got Spartanburg on the 2 slot and dorman in the 3
But shouldn’t they be switched based on current standings.

"PROJECTIONS" - the way I think it will end up based on current standings and how I think it will end up.

Actually I’d make the exact opposite argument. I’m not entirely convinced that your region opponents do you guys any favors. What I would praise DF for is putting together a strong non-region schedule each year.

I’d say Dorman might be guilty of padding their non-region schedule this year. For a first year head coach this kind of makes sense to me especially a first year coach in our region.

You do you. It’s all good. Only a homer would deny that DF has been the premier program and the team to beat in SC for the last decade and I don’t see that changing soon.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t be proud or crow about your success.

Just as I never suggested Byrnes fans shouldn’t act the way they did in the 00’s when they were acting the way they did.

Again, you surely have lots to brag about.

Peace!

I disagree! Dutch Fork is usually the most rested and injury free team come playoff time. Five BYE weeks while we are playing Region opponents! But seriously, that Region hasn't been a challenge for Dutch Fork in some time, even before TK. Not Dutch Fork's fault.

It looks like he has done a really good job adjusting to Dorman and has that team playing some good football. The question at Dorman should NEVER be can we field a team, not with all those students. The only question at Dorman should be can we develop all these players? Just the 9th grade campus alone would be a 4A school.

I disagree that you disagree! I submit that we are actually in violent agreement.

But I do give Knotts all the credit for realizing that he'd need to go out of the region for quality opponents during his tenure. Are the Foxes injury free this year? I was under the impression some of the players were kind of banged up going into region play. What was the quarterback's name? Appleby? Is he active again?

As far as Dorman fielding a team, we've got a solid unit to develop but it's unclear to me how much more our QB's arm can be developed. He does seem intelligent and disciplined though. He seems to have good decision-making ability. He just didn't hit the open receivers last night as we'd have liked. One thing we can definitely shore up is the ability to get the plays in. We had to burn time-outs all night long to avoid penalties.

I'd already decided we could skid these last 3 weeks and I'd be a happy Cavalier. I was pleasantly surprised with the win last night. Any other good fortune that comes our way from here on out is just gravy for this fan. I certainly did not expect to be sitting at 8-0. I heard the series between Byrnes and Dorman before the game was 33-29 in Byrnes's favor. Or maybe it was 33-27...I don't recall. In any case, notch another one for the Cavs. Kudos to our new coach!

I don't see why the Dorman game would be a make or break for the Byrnes staff. I'd just see how the rest of the season shakes out. I thought the Rebs had a good game last night and especially a good rally.

DeCav is correct...this has been probably our worst season in some time as far as the injury bug. QB went out early against Spartanburg and did not return as a starter until the White Knoll game. No tested back up QB- used probably 5 different guys at QB in that time. Green missed several games; OL/DL linemen out, several other positions ( a couple key linemen still out). I think some may have been basically able to return sooner but Knotts chose to rest them against North Augusta, Stratford and SFA...probably a good move. Back to the healthiest we have been since the very start of the season. Getting healthy and getting back to some DF football.

I agree about resting the injured players as long as possible.

Did Appleby come back strong? I’m always worried about giving the job back to the starter when he’s been out for awhile. If Knotts was rotating the backups all along it would clearly help derail any QB controversy upon his return. I guess he was waiting for a backup to present a clear argument for going with him over the injured starter. Sounds like there isn’t a compelling reason not to get the starter back in the mix.

Seems like Knotts is handling the injuries well.

I’m not sure why Knotts seems to be so unliked by other fans. Anytime I was someone I just get rumors about recruiting and condemnations about him being on the field too much.

He never struck me as a Scott Early type who has a reputation for being a sore loser.
