It’s senior night this week and Daniel plays Pendleton. The Bulldogs are 5-3 with losses Seneca, Crescent and Powdersville. They have big wins over Dixie, Fountain Inn, Eastside and West Oak, and a close win over Palmetto.
No need to continue on them, Daniel is going to win by a lot and put Pendleton in danger of missing the playoffs.

Who is this Daniel team you speak of? Are they 2A or 3A?

Stretch like those old school shirts say.
They all still hate us.
It’s real.
Comes with the territory of being the best.
Always get the most arrows.
Good means they are we want them to be.

“…many even added that he was glad of a new comic part in which to play the buffoon and that it was simply to make it funnier that he pretended to be unaware of his ludicrous position. But, who knows? It may have been simplicity.”- Fyodor Dostoyevsky.
I third this. All in favor of I don’t know what he said, say “aye”.
I don’t know if I should hate Daniel or not.
Who are they? I mean I’ve heard of Pendleton. Who hasn’t?
I can’t find any information on duck duck go or Wikipedia about Daniel.
What are their accolades? Any history? Stats? We need some substance not just uniquely nuanced hyperbole.
Give me a reason to Love
I mean if I can pull for the Vikes I can pull for anyone.
But seriously folks. I have no hate in my heart and no room for it either.
In my heart there is only LOVE and indifference.

Re: Daniel vs Pendleton
Games in November matter.
Games in August and September don't matter.
Games in October only matter by making sure that you get to play in November.
This is the reality of High School Football in South Carolina. Long gone are the days where your non-Region schedule has any meaning. Most teams now play 4 games per year that have any meaning to them. Some play 5, others only 3.
Flour/Daniel has been one of those teams, as of late, who have made the most noise playing in November. And in December, but I digress. This is still October and this game matters for the Lions in their journey towards November. Pendleton is merely a speed bump in that road.
Flour/Daniel wins this one big.

Flour Daniel!
That’s where I’ve heard that name.
Things are getting clearer.
I’d say the non-region games are still relevant if for no other reason than it gives teams in tough regions a chance to experiment and attenuate the dials and teams in weak regions a chance to play tougher teams.
I prefer the points system but if I had to play Devil’s advocate, I could be convinced of the utility of scheduling a weaker team without fear of compromising points.
I can just as easily be persuaded that it might let some teams in who shouldn’t belong.

I can't speak for every County, but here in Beaufort County, our School Board mandated that every High School in the County, play all of the other High Schools every year, in a measure aimed at cutting travel costs. With 6 High Schools in the County, that leaves very little flexibility for scheduling. Beaufort had been granted a waiver from playing We Don't Need It (Whale Branch) and Possum Hill due to lack of competition. We also played in a small Region (4 games), giving us a chance to strengthen up our schedules.
There are pros and cons to such arrangements. We have just learned to accept it and move on. Back when we were in Class 5A, that really hurt us. Now that the School Board has rezoned attendance lines and lowered our enrollment by around 500 students, dropping us all the way down to Class 3A, our non Region schedule is far less as important. We are far more competitive playing Schools with similar enrollment numbers. That has always been my beef with Class 5A (Old Class 4A), as the largest Schools in the state with over 3000 students, were in the same class as Schools half their size. Down here in Class 3A, that doesn't happen.
