The old way worked for me..big 16..usually the best 2 schools and some great road trips..everyone got a extra gate..of course Gaffney might not be in these days and that wouldn’t seem right..maybe they could grandfather them in. :lol:

A friend of mine suggested Spartanburg might make the post season.

#1 Dutch Fork -vs- #1 Gaffney
#1 Fort Dorchester -vs- #2 Summerville

#1 Greenville -vs #1 Northwestern
#1 South Florence -vs- #1 A C Flora

#1 Clinton -vs- #1 Powdersville
#1 Beaufort -vs- #1 Dillon

#1 Abbeville -vs- #3 Saluda
#1 Oceanside -vs- #1 Andrew Jackson

#1 Christ Church -vs- #3 St Joseph's
#1 Johnsonville -vs- #1 Cross

One #2 seed and two #3 seeds made it to the semifinals. Although, a #4 seed was within on score of replacing a #1 seed... so all it all, the cream rose to the top in most cases.

I've presented this to show that only letting the top two from each region doesn't "HURT" the playoffs and in some cases, it enhances the playoffs. While I'm not in favor of 32 of 35 teams [as in the 5A classification] making the playoffs, I do support the idea that we should do all we can to get as many deserving teams as possible into the brackets and for my vote, 24 teams sounds like the best option. I would like to see a point system that rewards teams for playing a tougher schedule; but maintain the Region Champions getting the first round BYE for winning the region. After the Champions are placed in the bracket by seed using the points system, then seed the remaining teams to fill out the 24 team bracket based on the point system using all region games but allowing one or two non Region games to be marked off to allow for rivalry games that are played for money purposes or for the games Penguin mentions that are mandated by other agencies or authorities.

I'd like to ask a question, but I am going to add some clarification before asking the question:

When I say, "WHAT IS WRONG", I'm not asking if you like it or don't like it, I'm asking if there is something "WRONG". Whether you or I like it or not is just an opinion, not a statement of right or wrong. There are loads of things in this world that I don't like, but that doesn't mean they are wrong. I don't like mayonnaise, but no matter how much I complain about it, I'm constantly being told that it is not wrong to put mayo on a sandwich. {YES IT IS!}

So here is the question:

What is WRONG with more that 16 teams making the playoffs?
