One more then I'm done.. the only ppl that whine are younger people. I can remember when Nobody wanted to play Lexington, Irmo, Sumter, Summerville, Stratford, Marlboro County, Spring Valley. And so on.

Dutch Fork is not a lower state team geographically.
Upper and Lower are made up words for a state Shaped like an inverted triangle with an east-we

miles and a north-south extent of about 225 miles.

Make the regions East - West see what u get
No, actually DF is an Upstate team.... kind of. DF is right on the 'Fall Line". In the southeast US, that runs from about Norfolk Va to Pensacola FL.

It is the break between the Piedmont (foothills) and the coastal plains of the the southern Atlantic states. In the early Crustaceous period it was the beach and then became the Atlantic plain when the now Atlantic Seaboard began to push up. So to Dutch Fork/the SC midlands left the beach and 'moved' inland.

If you take the state of SC and don't look at north/south or east/west, but look at the geographic shape of SC at a piece of pie/pizza.... the triangleish shape. Think of the fall line (the dividing line between the Upstate and the Low State) as how you would really want to share a single piece of pie.

Many people would share a single piece of piece of pie by making 2 smaller wedges; slicing from the point/tip back to the crust end.

A smart person would share that piece of pie by slicing it in half perpendicular to the other way. With 1 half being the tip half and the other being the crust end..... and saving the crusty end for themselves.

That division is the fall line. The fall line designates the Upstate from the Low State is a line that cuts through Columbia but runs parallel to the coast (or the pie crust) and NOT north, south, east, or west.

DF is on the Upstate side of that line. City of Lexington is firmly in the 'Sandhills' and the upper state, making it the 'old beach'. My father in law couldn't get much of anything to grow in that sandy yard he had there.

Another way to designate the fall line is how do the streams flow. In the Upstate the streams are narrow and fast moving. In the Low Country they are wide and slow moving..... I guess it all falls into to how you view Lake Murray for whether Dutch Fork is Upstate or Low State!!!

Dutch Fork by at least 3 touchdowns it won’t be that close at all unless DF makes numerous mistakes. I see DF scoring about 6 touchdowns 4 on offense 2 on defense. Maybe more.

If Dutch Fork is an upstate team then just move them to Region 2 5A. Throw in a couple of tough out of state games and there's nothing to whine about.

I think we can ALL AGREE..

ITS NOT ANYONES FAULT BUT THE SCHSL ON WHY THE PLAYOFFS ARE JACKED UP.

bring back cross bracketing.
Bring back the points system in some capacity.
In all honesty there really shouldnt even be a 5A in South Carolina.

Look at how hard it was for Spartanburg to find games.. I cant imagine what Knotts has to deal with just to find teams to play.
You could have challenged Gov McMaster and won the Governer's race on that platform alone!

If you say so DF is nowhere near the 2 teams we played in Georgia and they were powerhouse teams. So you can erase those 3 or 4 touchdown leads..👀

DF would likely hold their own against either of those GA teams. DF beat a nationally ranked Creekside team short-handed on the road. Hughes is ranked 19th, DF is 39th, Creekside is 67th and Grayson is not ranked nationally with Maxpreps, but that and $4 will buy you a cup of Starbucks.

At this stage of the playoffs in all classifications with teams that are fairly evenly matched it always comes down to the fundamentals. Blocking and tackling...line performance usually plays the most important part at this juncture. Dorman was said to have the best OL in the state and Dutch Fork DL was up to the task. In all the games remaining in the playoffs...the team that gets the best play from their lines will likely win. DF is healthy on the OL again, so that helps. DF has been able (well out of necessity due to injuries earlier) to develop quality depth across both the OL and DL. Hopefully, they continue to play well.
