Upper State 5A Final

Post by Rebel-Fan-74 »

Dutch Fork at The Reservation to face the Gaffney Indians!

Everything about this is great.

Rematch from last year at State
Being at The Reservation with that HUGE home field advantage
Arguably the two best teams for the past few years

Looking forward to the build up of this one…..

Doodles is confident in the Silver Foxes, DUTCH FORK 380.3 GAFFNEY 321.5 29

I'm not 29 points confident in the Foxes, but I'd favor them but not by 29 points. I think they are playing strong enough to be favored by 7 to 10 points once you factor in the home field advantage of the RESERVATION and all the excitement of the crowd and the front seven that the Indians put on the field. Dutch Fork will have to be able to make some good passes to win this game and Gaffney will have to play hard for all four quarters and get off to a good start and keep the crowd excited and supporting them.

The prospect of 2 sophomore ILB’s trying to slow Greene doesn’t excite me,but they have played well..can the front play well enough to keep their OLmen occupied at the first level..Got to limit him and make em throw it to have a chance..if we are still in it late in the game, then the home field will really become an advantage..either way the anticipation is great..

I've got a feeling that Gaffney ghost might have a hand in things Friday night. That and the Indian fanbase who I think are second to none in South Carolina. The players are special too. But man, I've gotta say. Watching DF go up on the Vikes 49-7 at halftime was bit bewildering because I couldn't really tell what it was that Spartanburg was doing wrong all night. The Foxes just looked that good. Their defense does not swarm to the ball. They stay in their lanes and make the open tackles as good as any defense I've seen.

If the Gaffney defense comes at them like I saw them do against Spartanburg, it will only be half the equation. The playbook for the Gaffney offense will have to be dynamic but Gaffney is never more dangerous than when they're underestimated.

Me and SPV95 were really surprised at how anemic the home crowd was at Dutch Fork Friday night so I do think DF might have to contend with a big home field advantage for the Indians. Judging by the DF crowd Friday and how well the Indian fans travel, I could argue Gaffney would still have homefield advantage even if the game was at Dutch Fork. I've seen the Gaffney playmakers lifted up on the shoulders by the fans many times. If the Foxes take the Gaffney crowd out of the game early, it might spell trouble.

Watching DF play Friday, I'd have to say that they're fairly disciplined. But they do make some mistakes. There was a taunting call against them that I noted from Friday night. If I had any advice for Gaffney (and God knows I've been boxed around this season for sharing any opinions about Gaffney but I never learn anyway) it would be to make part of the game plan to get in the heads of the DF players. I'd be biting, scratching, and talking sht to DF all night long when the refs weren't watching. I think if Gaffney can get them out of their rhythm this Friday it will be another great game between these two teams.

I'm definitely pulling for the Indians in this contest because I've been as vocal as anyone about the quality of our region but if the Foxes make a clean sweep Friday I'll be one of the first in line to congratulate them. It's kind of funny that Dbutt took himself out of the whole equation by running and hiding like he did. Especially after his season long rant about Wolverine Legend. If he had half the class and a tenth of the brains as most of the people on here, he'd have taken his medicine Saturday morning so that he could be back in the mix and talkin sht this week. No shame in that. We all fall back on other teams once it's basketball season for our own team.

At this point, I don't see how he saves face, especially after this fake azz account that was created this morning. Even if it wasn't him, it might as well be. Honestly, if I were him I'd take a page from Byrnes#1 and man up and own all this crap he started. Never seen a troll faceplant this hard in 12 years. Not even 4 spirits of the wind looked this hapless.

And btw, someone call Wolverine Legend and let him know that window is open. Looks like this week is as good a time as ever to climb back up in the saddle.

Good luck to both teams! Safe travels and I hope for no injuries.

God help the winner of the Battle Of The Ville Friday night! LOL!

I'm just kidding. Seriously though, it would be cool to see a Summerville/Gaffney matchup at state. It's still cool knowing that either The Patriots or the Greenwave will be in Columbia. I know Scotty will be there. I'm assuming Dfactor will as well.

Peace Out,
DeCav

Well sitting here one game away from playing for state taking your advice then seems a little premature..it was your insistence on it that got you boxed in..we ain’t mad at cha..and you ain’t special …any other teams fan would have gotten the same response..

Peace bro..

PS..the refs are always watching Gaffney..they hate us just like other fans do..and it shows at times..

Not boxed in, boxed around.

I can take it. Wouldn't ever have made it through PFT if I couldn't.

I think you're onto something about creating a monster with Randy. You might just be a modern day Dr. Frankenstein.

I used to be a really nice poster if you remember. Too nice, according to you. ;)

You ain't mad at me, I guess that's the case. But things ain't been the same for quite awhile. Even a sincere apology didn't seem to be any kind of a salve but it is what it is.

You don't hate me. That's nice. I do love you though!

So what? Is it like a Freaky Friday thing or is it just our relative ages? I hope I don't have to grow out of this!

As far as the can you're holding in the pic, I'm very glad you're not that dude anymore. But I'd be willing to do just about anything to get the smile back that we captured in that pic. But the times, they a-come and the times, they a-go.

I'll say this. I never did officially thank you for shaking me out of my hippie love sht. I'm not sure I'd have survived this long without growing some claws or I guess if SLICK is any expert, fangs.
