DeCav, Penguin and BEAUFORTEAGLESFAN..
First of all, congratulations on the victory over Dillon. What a great game it was! Beaufort made the plays when they had to. The safety that the Eagles got was the difference in the game. We go from getting a inteception and the ball back tied at 21 to being down 23-21 on the holding call in the end zone after the interception. I'll be pulling for the Eagles next week. The atmosphere was electric. Now, I want to tell you how much fun it was to meet y'all at the game. We all had a great time and y'all got to meet the legend, Jerry Turner!! We all had some great stories to tell. I prayed for a safe return for everyone. I'm looking forward to the replies and pics!! Us Wildcats will have to regroup and hopefully we will be back!!

Re: DeCav, Penguin and BEAUFORTEAGLESFAN..
I made it back safe. Traffic was a bit heavy for a late night trip, but we managed through it. Enjoyed meeting everyone, talking football with some really smart people, and yes, what a super atmosphere to play a football game in. Congrats on a super season. Dillon has a very fine team. It was a shame the either team had to lose such a hard fought game. I appreciated all of the hospitality and good vibes. I hope that we can play again soon. I will post some pics tomorrowDillon Wildcat Fan wrote: ↑Fri Nov 25, 2022 11:15 pmFirst of all, congratulations on the victory over Dillon. What a great game it was! I’m back also after stopping at The Awful House for some chicken, eggs, and grits.
At home now sitting upon the throne. Will try and get pics posted with a better reply when I make it to my 2nd office room. Got a brilliant pic of Jerry that your friend Moody took. I think we all missed a brilliant joke of his during the pics. I about pissed myself while eating when I saw it.
Great game with ferocious intensity! I’d say that’s what it looks like when an immovable object meets an unstoppable force!
But the fans for both sides and the sportsmanship were the story of the night!
I’m just gonna say it. 5A fans could learn a lot from these two crowds.

Re: DeCav, Penguin and BEAUFORTEAGLESFAN..
Thanks Jimmy!
I have to say that watching a game with you and Penguin was damn fun! Lots of high fives and hugs all night long! And Dillon Wildcat Fan was just as nice of a guy and as classy as you BEF!
I'm hoping all of us can sit together next Saturday! There'd be some heavy high fiving going on. Jerry too!
So the fireworks were as advertised!

Me and Penguin, just two handsome devils.

Me and BEF! Much better picture than the last fuzzy one I took 10 years ago with Jimmy.

Penguin and congratulating #10 for Beaufort

Penguin congratulating #74 for Beaufort

Simply one of the classiest photos I think I've ever been able to capture at a game. Dillon Wildcat Fan congratulating #74 of the Beaufort Eagles on the win. If this board wants better content, then start engaging more with this guy on the board. He brings the class! No bullsht.

The living legend Penguin and the instantly likable Dillon Wildcat Fan. I didn't see a single homer tonight for either side!
If we can get these two suited up in Eagles' uniforms next week and sneak 'em on as the two inside linemen on defense I think they just might seal the middle AND the corner just standing still. Intimidating fellas! Glad we're all on the same side next week!

From right to left: Dillon WC Fan, Penguin, DeCav, and the myth...the mysterious enigma, Jerry Turner! He just might be SCPrepTalk's first superstar!
I would just like to point out the knee on my jeans. I made bleach pen, Flinstoned it my 3-D printer, mounted my jeans on the base and let the machine draw the Van Halen logo on the denim in bleach. The splotch is where I put too much bleach in the pen and it dripped.
Yes DWF, I can make you some badass bleached Dillon jeans if you want. Or for Penguin or BEF in the off-season. And yeah, my fly might be open but why is anyone looking at that anyway?

Another Beaufort standout posing for pics!

Right to left: DeCav, #55 for the Eagles, DWF, Penguin. You can see Penguin is genuinely happy! DWF is trying to maintain himself but the corners of his mouth do seem to be turned down. I kid. I kid.

From tallest to shortest: DWF, Penguin, DeCav, and Very Jerry!

Right to left: DWF, Penguin, Jerry, and I think his last name was Moody....I'll ask him two more times and then he can slap me with a trout.

And now for my favorite pic. Someone suggested that Jerry should look up slightly.
Now that's a guy with a wry sense of humor!

Just a fantastic night! I really don't know what was better the game on the field of the fellowship in the stands.
I can say that upon arriving I didn't know where to find or meet any of these guys and had nobody's phone number. DWF had tried to send me a PM but that's always a sketchy deal no matter how much experience you have with it. I was watching for Penguin and Jimmy while I was down by DWF's truck. Stupidly, I didn't ever see him before the game even though that's about where I was at. I was counting on one of them recognizing me. I think I'll ask my brother to have me a DeCav shirt printed with my avatar on the front and back so I'm easier to find.
Watched Penguin walk right by me and I thought it might be him except he looked like more like Gandalf than Penguin and the fella following behind him could have been in a BEF police lineup but he didn't have glasses and sure didn't look like him much. I followed the two of them up to where they were sitting and set a few feet away. Even turned to look at him as he pointed his camera right at me but still showed no sign of recognition.
I'd messaged BEF on FB messenger but hadn't heard back from him so I took a shot with SLICK and messaged him to get Alan's number. No response. I then told SLICK, "DO I need to insult you or something in exchange for the number? And then he sent me the number.
Called Alan, he answered. Could tell he was at the game and was hearing is voice from my phone and behind me. We turned and yep Penguin had gone full hippie. Had a great time sitting with Penguin. No airs or graces with him last night. Lots of good intelligent football talk! Easy conversation. Watched the first have with Penguin. Then I went and watched the 3rd quarter with BEF! Lot's of high fives and big hugs! Reminded me of Chuck, really! Just total bliss for Jimmy every time the ball went their way and a good attitude with it didn't.
Headed down for the last quarter and met DWF and Jerry and Mr. Moody. Got some pics and told some great stories! SPV95, DWF runs the youth league down there, so if you meet him keep your opinions of referees to yourself. He said he's heard an earful from parents and is about out of patience with people harping on the refs. Good thing the Ducks are out. I make joke (In thick Russian accent.)
The action on the field was fast and furious. The running was down hill, hard and precise. #10 was just on a mission. Was he unstoppable? Well not always but he had brilliant footwork and balance and i think they buttered up his uniform with more cooking spray than 1st and Goal ever used in front of the mirrors and Gold's Gym. On Wildcat tried to get a grip on the shoulder of his jersey but only managed to spin him around 360 degrees where he just kept driving in the same direction.
The Dillon offense was also going downhill all night long and busting great runs to the corners.
Both teams had a good passing attack but the linebacker and secondary play was the best I've seen from either team. No stupid PI's, the secondary were turning their heads back to look for the ball and in some cases reading just the body language of the receiver in order to know how to adjust. I swear one corner must have known the ball was coming in low and short near the end zone because he didn't just look back, but fully turned to catch the ball right in the numbers. Just great awareness!
The safety DWF was speaking of happened in the 4th quarter. I'm still not sure about it but Dillon intercepted in the end zone and got out of the end zone but not before committing a penalty in the end zone that resulted in a safety for Beaufort. After trading possessions a couple more times I think Beaufort got in the end zone one more time and the extra point made it a 9 point game.
I know DWF thinks the safety cost them the game but barring any butterfly effect perturbations, I'd say that safety definitely disrupted momentum. But even without it, Dillon would have had to drive the field and score without being forced to give the ball back. The way the Eagle defense was playing, it's conceivable they could have got a stop, got the ball back and gone up by seven even without the safety.
Dillon's last drive was brilliant between the 20's but eventually stalled with excellent pass coverage and an eventual int for the Eagles who were able to kneel the ball at that point.
The safety definitely changed the flow of the game, but just by the numbers, you give Dillon back the two points and they still weren't able to punch it in at the end and had Beaufort in a victory formation. I say that so that whoever committed the holding penalty that caused the safety doesn't have to feel like he lost the game.
Speaking of losing the game, there was just some tremendous sportsmanship demonstrated tonight. I was told...someone will have to confirm this to me...that Dillon had not lost a home game in the last 46 contests since 2014. The Eagles had their work cut out for them and the Wildcats had a streak to defend. After the buzzer there was of course celebrating for the Eagles but heartbreak for the Wildcats. Two Wildcats in particular were taking it very hard, on their knees with their helmets to the ground for quite a while. An Eagle play came over and patted him on the back and then knelt down to offer some solace. Then he patted him on the back. A second Eagle come over to help get the boy to his feet and the both gave him a big hug and congratulated him on a good game.
Instead of piling out of the stadium, the Dillon fans took to the field in droves to surround their warriors and kneel with them in solidarity. All the time the Eagles attention was solicited from the fans, Eagle and Wildcat alike who were offering congratulations and their solid promise to be pulling for Beaufort against Powdersville. All in all, just a brillian night! A great spirit was there. The two fan bases were loud and reactionary and classy. Both teams threw the ball pretty but those defenses were both causing headaches all night for the offenses both up front and in the secondary. Great pass coverage, smart running, looking back, leaping up at the right time. Just text book!
Early, The Eagles attempted a screen pass. The QB even too great care to get it over the defender's head but the boy leaped so high that he tipped the ball to himself. I'll say even if Powdersville has a good passing game....good luck against the Beaufort defense. Just a stellar defense!
It wasn't the BEST football game I've ever seen but it was probably the most intense football game I've seen in a while.
Next week everyone will get a chance to see what DF is made up. They're for real. We'll see what Fort has for them. Gonna need someone to roll the demon seed on DF this week. I'll see if I can get Dfactor so summon one from his tree of evil.
Peace out good friends! The weekend of champions should be outrageous. I think we'll see a lot of new and some old faces there. Probably not many Gaffney or Byrnes fans but at least one Dorman fan! Gonna be a great chance to meet up with some central and lowcountry fans. I expect to see some familiar low country faces there. Hopefully some of the great Gator fans and some great Summerville fans.
OK, it's late! I need to get out of here.
The last link...for Jimmy.
And yeah, I'll run a poster award this year. There will be a new category. Most lame poster. We all know who that will be. Be thinking about categories.
Peace out,
DeCav
