Great article! Now we need to start playing like it. Can't keep getting blown out by good teams trying to keep the legacy going.

Good post GwoodEagle2k1! I'm glad some of you younger folks are reading up on your history. I'd say it's pretty legendary to have Vince Lombardi give you the ok to wear the G let alone send you the actual logos!
As for what Greenwood is now, I'm not going to waste my time bashing the coaching staff when they've had two good years out of three. I agree we need to be way more competitive against championship level teams but that has to be built from the ground up. Can't be de la salle overnight. I'll stick with them as long as they keep getting better.

Ain't nobody on here bashing the coaching staff. Folks just don't wanna see Greenwood go 5-7 and get blown out by the better teams around the state. That's not greenwood football. People want to see consistency around here. That's all I'm saying folk. LIVE UP TO THA G! I really liked the article but this ain't the 60s! My school needs to get there groove back. We have the athletes! No more triple option. Run something that's in with the times. Or more than that, run something that will get WINS! We need to win.northside knight wrote: ↑Tue Dec 27, 2022 6:50 pmGood post GwoodEagle2k1! I'm glad some of you younger folks are reading up on your history. Like why can't greenwood develop a QB and run the air raid?

Easley, Westside and Greenville do it.... Why can't we?

Westside and Greenville don't even run the air raid. Porter and Greenville mixes it up and Westside is multiple. Easley runs from the pistol and has some air raid concepts but they have a Superstar at QB in the making. Probably the next LaNorris Sellers. Unfortunately we don't have that at quarterback. Is what it is. Maybe we will in the future, maybe next year I have no clue. I agree they need to put the kids in something that will make them more successful but it's not going to be the air raid lol. You might as well forget about that. Liner has already said he plans on switching to some sort of spread. We'll just have to wait and see what that is.

Good article.
On a side note...
Has the "Removing the LOGO" ever worked out well for a coach?
I'm sure there has been a few but it doesn't seem to be the norm.
We had a coach many many years ago that did that and he had about the same results that year. (2-9)

I liked seeing the return of the white "E" on a Green helmet at Easley this year.

My personal favorite.

Hope we keep this look.
