Brian Lane. Done a decent job at Clover, but is also the guy that ran the Byrnes program in the ground before getting fired there.

have not heard that one but have heard of him
They run spread or still run wing t at clover ?? I assume if he was at Byrnes he ran spread
While wing t is very effective it is like watching paint dry and right now WHS has the talent for a wide open offense

Re: Scott Earley steps down at Westside
Brian learned a lot of great lessons at Byrnes, the biggest lesson was in hiring assistants. He's a good man and with good assistants, I think (and this is coming from a Rebel fan who couldn't attend the games in the final season because of the way the players were acting and how out of control things were) he has grown as a coach and would be a great hire for Westside.
As for the comment about Bobby Bentley, USF fired their entire staff and I don't know what he's doing now, so you could definitely make a splash with that hire!

As for Earley, I only have one comment about him and that is a memory from a 7 on 7 when he went on a tirade in front of several young kids and let MANY F Bombs fly. Now, it was a "heat of the moment" thing and I'm not saying he's a bum or anything like that, but like many coaches, anger issues trigger that reaction from time to time. As a coach, he's a proven winner (not a multi-State Champion winner) but still his teams are always well prepared.

Brian Lane is official
Re: Scott Earley steps down at Westside
Curious as to why you say that.
He is officially HC now but just curious.
EVERYTHING I have heard is top notch guy and very good coach. Rams have young returning talent and a very explosive offense. Sound like perfect match
Coach like him can pull talent away from other schools in the county, not a fan of this but it goes on every where

Lane is a good coach but his teams have very little discipline. I am curious to see how he does at Westside or how long he stays at Westside before he starts looking for the next great thing! I know that he interviewed almost every off season for other jobs, while he was coaching at Clover.
