Who will be the next head coach at Hillcrest?
I believe Frate left Hillcrest in good shape and got the culture fixed over there. Hillcrest has talent and they have shown they are able to compete, but who would be interested in the job? Frate didn't have any HC experience before he came to hillcrest show they have shown there willing to give the job to someone who hasn't been a coach before. Would be interested in hearing who you guys think will be interested

He may not have been a head coach prior to Hillcrest but at that time, his resume was probably one of the strongest in the country as an assistant coach.Redraider66 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 09, 2023 3:22 pmI believe Frate left Hillcrest in good shape and got the culture fixed over there. Former D3 All-American, Virginia Tech GA, multiple years as a very successful defensive coordinator in SC and NC. He's also a fantastic educator in the classroom.
He is the real deal and I won't be surprised if he eventually gets a shot at the college level.

Probably has a better “football” job at Crest. Not sure what he makes up there as I know NC is famous for not paying their coaches well. Know he had some issues at Greenville High, don’t know if that would limit his chances in SC, or GC. But a lot of the same folks in GC are still in place which might influence things. And we all know as far as the district is concerned, football has never been high on the priority list for some reason.

Talked to Dale Nelson the other day . Only comment he made was he was surprised by the number of applicants. Many as he said were trashed from the start but some really good ones. Having a new weight room helps .
