He has a big rebuilding job as the whole system is in shambles. I have tempered expectations to start just because of where he has to start from.

I hope you’re right. Lamar is 1A but if you can coach, you can coach. Yeah the higher the level requires more but the fundamentals are the same. Either you can or you can’t. He’s got a lot of problems to fix before we’re “back”. Conway has a strong winning tradition but we’re a long ways away from returning to prominence. Discipline, strength and conditioning issues, and numbers down are just a few. The kids have lost the pride and confidence of wearing a Conway Tiger uniform. Nothing has changed at Conway otherwise. The support has been waiting to come back and will as soon as Coach Pierce gives them a reason too. Some will come back immediately. In fact the excitement of a new stadium and coach this year will bring a lot of support back quickly. He has a golden opportunity win over the community quickly if he can get off to a fast start. I’m looking forward to it. It’s been a long 6 years of misery!

Looking forward to it. Sometimes change brings renewed excitement in its self. His first hurdle will be getting some help. The Admins are going to have to make some coaching/teaching slots available. That’s where it needs to start. They need to be on campus jobs too.

Pierce is going to be the strength and conditioning coach but it’s going to be interesting if he runs the defense or brings in a DC? He might bring in a few from his Lamar staff. I know he hired 4 or 5 new ones last year including a new OC.
