96 screwed up
big time when they shafted coach
Brian Neal years ago.he is a lifetime
96 guy.palyed for the Wildcats.If they had
left him alone he would probably have stayed
at 96 all these years and had some good teams.
he came back last year as an assistant coach.he
has put in for the job a couple of times since then.
Don't know if he will this time.I would like to
see coach Neal back as head coach.He would be
my choice.

That's crazy considering why Neal was let go

Neal was let go because big booster wasnt satisfied with the amount of PT his son was getting at QB. Neal did return two years ago and has been there ever since as an assistant. Has been living in community again for a long while. He does have the experience and knows the community and players. He took McCormick to state a few years back.

I was under the impression that an assistant under him who wanted the job...who's dad was a booster...was part of the reason.. back stabbing..

That was the impression I had also. The head coach that was let go used to brag about how he went to the board to get Neal fired.

That may be true too. Neal is a good coach and person. I guess he looked past that to get back in Ninety Six. You may have some of the same type stuff coming again. The Asst Superintendent who went after Owings has a step son thats a candidate for the job. coincidence. NAH.

Seems like things are falling apart in 96.

Basketball coach is out too. Never a good thing when you lose two major sport coaches within a few days.
