Top Choices for Mauldin High?

Post by Redraider66 »

Who do you guys think will get the Mauldin job? I’m sure some of you have heard rumors. I’m not sure who’s be interested in the job. That is a tough region with Hanna and Hillcrest and now JL Mann is playing tough. I could see this job going to an up and coming Coordinator. What are your guys thoughts?

I know one coordinator Mauldin reached out to. He wasn’t interested in pursuing further as Mauldin just doesn’t seem to set their football program up with the things one would need to really compete in 5A football. But that is the price some schools pay in a district that doesn’t put a priority on football.

I agree it doesn't seem there focus is on football, this year alone they won state in volleyball and girls basketball and the AD is the baseball coach so there is three sports right there that have priority. It says a lot when your head coach leaves to take the DC job at another school (Yes I know his wife is the soccer coach there but still) to leave a HC to be the DC at woodmont says a lot

Heard they had over 50 applications. Which means probably only half qualified. It’s a tough job because GCSD doesn’t care much about football

Any updates since interviews started, I know a few who did not get an interview that applied who were VERY qualified so I would love to see who did and who gets this job.

That makes sense…..considering hiring a coach that is looking to retire.

Perfect man for the job. Maybe he still wears the white shoes.
