Trust me Coach Shaw didn't run Palmetto into the ground. They hit their cycle of athletic talent a few years ago. He did the best with what he had to deal with. Look at their athletic program as a whole. They ran out of bullets. The only consistent team of their whole program is softball.

I am sure that when the hire is announced we will see at least 3 of the following in the announcement:

  always grinding
  loves kids
  elite
  24/7 guy

They will hire someone that is not qualified because of the interview candidate structure set forth by the administration of Mauldin.
Shaw would have been a great choice.

As I posted previously in this thread, I am not sure it matters who Mauldin. The administration follows the Greenville County directives which do very little to support football. They don’t have the infrastructure in place to really compete at a serious level in 5A football
