Woodruff strength team wins 3A state championship
The Woodruff strength team won the class 3A state championship at Lexington High School last week. The Wolverines scored 31 team points. The next closest team finished with only 9 as Woodruff dominated the 3A ranks. The Wolverines also finished with the third highest point total of all 5A teams competing as well. We are easily overlooked, but we have some strong kids who work hard and with loaded rising 10th and 9th grade classes, and a coach who is already making the game fun for our kids again, Woodruff is back on the rise. Doubt us if you wish, but sooner rather than later you will wish you hadn't.
And on the eighth day, God created the Woodruff Wolverines

He has been spitting this "FEAR US" message since we were on the boards in 2008 when Central beat the breaks off of the team and they told us we had NO chance. Dillon held CEntral to-5 yards rushing at half and totally dominated them in that state game. EVery year the message has been "NEXT YEAR WATCHOUT

In 2020 he said that they were on the rise, played them in the second round the last two years and they lost by 35 and 38. Now they hire a coach who had a generational player at his last school that made him look good, and a strength title and that will make up the 5 TD deficit to the top 3A teams.nastycats1988 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2023 8:37 amHe has been spitting this "FEAR US" message since we were on the boards in 2008 when Central beat the breaks off of the team and they told us we had NO chance. I will be eagerly waiting to see how Daniel replaces every ounce of that all-world offensive cast you had the past two seasons. It is so easy for everyone to write Woodruff off, but just grab the popcorn. We see things you guys don't. We have the right coach with the right mentality in place and a core of YOUNG talent ready to prove everyone wrong. Don't think for one instant they don't see everyone doubting them and it ticks them off. Everyone else will pay for it in the coming years.stretch wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2023 6:20 pmIn 2020 he said that they were on the rise, played them in the second round the last two years and they lost by 35 and 38. And where, might I ask, was the Daniel strength team? Surely an athletic program as prestigious as the Lions' could send a dozen or so of their finest down to Lexington.

Getting rid of Adams was the first upgrade Woodruff made.

Legend when you say..." ready to prove everyone wrong"... I assume by "everyone" you just mean Walhalla, West-Oak, Fountain Inn (for now), Travelers Rest, Blue Ridge and Carolina, correct?Wolverine_Legend wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2023 8:19 pmI will be eagerly waiting to see how Daniel replaces every ounce of that all-world offensive cast you had the past two seasons. Your optimism is something I wish we all had. Our team will be fine because we have a winning culture built. We lost very good players on both sides of the ball but we had some very good players on the bench or on the JV team waiting to get their shots on the field on Fridays. They’ve all seen what it takes to be on top so they know what they have to do to be championship contenders. It’s not an easy thing to accomplish like you might think it is, but they know what it takes.Wolverine_Legend wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2023 8:19 pmI will be eagerly waiting to see how Daniel replaces every ounce of that all-world offensive cast you had the past two seasons. So continue to hold your head high as the “off-season champion.” Congrats on the strength title and subpar coaching hire, it was indeed and upgrade. But you are 2 years away from being able to compete in your own region.
Go Daniel Lions!!
