Gaffney got out played by a better team. End of story.
We absolutely did. Not denying that. Great game by the chargers. You guys were very well prepared and it showed. QB played great and that #3 is a speed demon. This post isn't about Crest. I apologize for not giving Crest credit initially. I have just seen the same mistakes at Gaffney for a long time.

I wonder what TK could do with that program. Everyone dreams of a staff like that!

I think about that. Not just TK but ANY competent football minded coach.
The Gaffney defense got exposed but that will be fixed.
The Gaffney offensive line should have made this game different. No, ifs, ands or buts.
The amount of talented offensive weapons for Gaffney is very high . Too high to be down by 6, on the Crest 28 yard line with 3 minutes + left in the game and throw a bubble screen to the short side of the field.
It's the same dog and pony show we've been watching since 2011.

It might've worked on the wide side of the field?
How many yards did the "Heavy" package produce Friday night?
3-4 outstanding receivers
Couple of different running back looks.
Alabama looking O-Line.
Couldn't get a 1st down when it was needed the most.
Much less back to back QB sacks.
Those INDIANS were set up for failure 😏

It's just to the point of ridiculous. This staff is pathetic. Terrible play calling, terrible discipline, terrible tackling, etc. It's been years since Gaffney has looked like Gaffney. 2021 was the closest I've seen in a long time but they still weren't the Gaffney teams of the past. I'm sorry but when you watched Gaffney as a kid, and you know what this team should look like, this is pure disappointment and has been for a long time. Getting real tired of seeing a team I love being run into the ground by this staff. It's a sad state of affairs in title town...
Sooooo, let's dissect this post.
This staff....
How many changes have transpired since last year?? How many new coaches are on board? AND how may are still around since GHS last WON IT ALL??????? How many rings does this current staff have on their fingers??? Did they forget how to coach?

Play calling...
How many hours did you spend breaking down film and designing those particular plays that were called? What input did you provide to the game planning? How much do you know about the WHAT and HOW these players are able to perform?

Discipline....
Not to take a pass, but these are 16/17 year old kids that are trying to produce what YOU want. When is the last time you ran a yellow/red light? drove a couple of MPH over the limit? told a white lie to the misses? Yeah that needs to be fixed, but it happens and takes time.

Tackling...
have you watched major college football or the NFL????

And finally.... sad state of affairs....
WOW, do you really think the coaching staff and the head coach are actively trying to lose? That they just rolled up one day and said, "Let's screw up this group of kids and lose a bunch of ball games."?

You need to back up and stop being 'THAT' fan and be honest about where your team is.. Gaffney is the standard bearer of champions for SC.... but GHS doesn't win it every year.

When the season becomes important, GHS will be there.

That o line was meant to run the ball behind. Not sure they are quick enough on their feet for pass blocking yet. Generally if you are big AND fast you are sent over to the d line in high school, lol. Only complaint I've had the past few seasons is the discipline and false start penalties. Like several have already said they will be a tough out this year, especially later in the season.

I think you are correct. My biggest fear going into the game. Was long sustained drives. Keeping our defense on the field. The second half would have been chunk yardage. Also, running a 3 man front and bringing pressure off the edge was a mistake. We just rolled away from pressure. Or sucked him in, and ran around the end. I think a 5 man front. Would have contained the pocket. Forced quick throws. Most importantly stopped the mahomes scrambling type plays. That ultimately were the killers.
